The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.

And nowhere is that more true than in the hairdressing industry.

Behind every successful hairdresser are years of hard work, dedication, practice, patience, mistakes, sacrifices and determination.

It's the early mornings, the late nights, the courses you've paid for, the techniques you've struggled to master and the countless hours spent trying to become better at what you do.

It's the clients who didn't come back, the colours that didn't go to plan, the quiet weeks when you questioned everything and the moments when you wondered whether all the effort was really worth it.

We often see the finished result of someone else's success without seeing everything it took for them to get there.

But success in hairdressing isn't always about awards, a fully booked column, a busy salon or thousands of social media followers.

Sometimes success is simply being a better hairdresser than you were yesterday, building a loyal clientele, finding confidence in your abilities or creating a career that gives you the life you want.

There are no shortcuts to experience, and nobody becomes great at what they do overnight.

So wherever you are in your hairdressing journey, keep learning, keep growing and give yourself credit for how far you've already come.

Because the work you're putting in today is building the hairdresser you'll become tomorrow.

We always enjoy the Pretty in a Minute Hot Tools Class! is entertaining, funny, and knowledgeable! He shared his expertise and encouragement with the students. We don't always get the same presenter, but we would love to have Anthony back!

This year at Sharpeners Jam, Bonnie Megowan and Jim O’Donnell will be teaching together in a rare side-by-side sharpening format where attendees will get to compare:
• Rideline methods
• Flat hone workflows
• Troubleshooting approaches
• Convex edge sharpening concepts
• Real-world sharpening philosophies

This won’t be polished stage presentations.

It’ll be practical, hands-on, working sharpeners sharing what actually works in the shop.

Honestly… this may become one of the most unique learning experiences we’ve ever offered at the Jam.
