Happy Principal Appreciation Week, Mustang Family! 🐴💙❤️

This week, Marquardt Middle School celebrates our principal, and today we’re proud to spotlight our very own Dr. Marquis Butler!

Thank you, Dr. Butler, for everything you do for our students, staff, and families! 👏

Principal Appreciation Week wraps up today! 🎉

Day five of our week-long celebration is here, and we’re closing out the week by shining the spotlight on Dr. Marquis Butler, principal of Marquardt Middle School! 🐴💙❤️

For Dr. Butler, the “why” is personal. His teachers and schools gave him a new path, and he has never forgotten it. Every day, he works to open that same path for our students and to ensure its impact reaches generations to come.
Thank you, Dr. Butler, and thank you to all of our principals for leading us all week long and every day! 👏

Attendance Improvement Update:

Celebrating Our Students and Families!

Our commitment to building a culture of belonging for every student is showing real results, and we couldn’t do it without your partnership!

Every single week this school year, our attendance has improved compared to the same time last year, with our chronic absenteeism rate consistently dropping.

We have some exciting news to celebrate: 636 out of 686 students (92.7%) are currently qualifying for our October attendance incentive by having 1 or fewer absences this month!

From positive phone calls home and fun attendance incentives to the strong relationships being built through our Connections class, our staff is dedicated to making school a place where your children feel supported and excited to learn.

We remain focused on our schoolwide goal of bringing our chronic absenteeism rate down to 17% or lower.

Thank you for making school attendance a priority at home and for partnering with us to help your children thrive every day!

Halloween Costumes
As a reminder, middle school students are permitted to wear costumes, provided they adhere to our safety and dress code guidelines.

Key Costume Rules for Students:

No Masks: Faces must remain fully visible at all times for safety and identification.

No Weapons: Absolutely no toy or replica weapons of any kind (swords, guns, blasters, etc.).

No Tripping Hazards: Costumes must not drag on the floor or restrict safe movement in hallways and on stairs.

If a student arrives with a mask, prop weapon, or non-compliant item, they will be asked to remove it.

Thank you for helping us keep this event safe, orderly, and fun for everyone!
