As voters head to the polls tomorrow, we want to remind you of three items that will have an impact on Peoria Unified.

Proposition 428, a 13% maintenance and operations budget override that would continue the district's current override. Peoria Unified has had a voter-approved override in place since 1996.

Proposition 429, which asks whether the district may sell, lease or exchange certain district properties including Kachina Elementary School and the District Administration Center.

Proposition 320, a statewide ballot measure that would require certain school districts to spend at least 60% of their operational spending on direct instructional expenses.

Prop 428 renews a 13% maintenance and operations override to pay for teachers and staff, nurses, full-day kindergarten, arts and athletics at all 41 schools. In short, an override funds people and programs. Additionally, voters will consider Prop 429 which, if approved, would grant the district the authority, but not the obligation, to sell, lease or exchange the District Administration Center and Kachina Elementary School.
