We are just one week away from our fall Art Studio Open House & Sale!

October 5, 1-4pm
Greenbelt Community Center

From 1-4pm, tour the studios of the Center's eight Artists in Residence on the third floor and see their latest creations. Artists will have fine art and elevated functional wares available for sale. Visit the Greenbelt Access Television production studio on the second floor and make a stop-motion animation video. Meet artist Judith Kornett at her exhibit of vibrant hooked rugs, collages, and prints in the art gallery, and enjoy hands-on demonstrations of spinning and rug hooking.

Also from 1-4pm, enjoy hands-on art activities led by Greenbelt Recreation instructors and community artists. Try your hand at spray painting, needle felting, potter's wheel, and special activities for young children. Workshops will take place on the first floor and front lawn.

From 1:30-2pm or 2 to 2:30 pm, join instructor Lisa Pellittiere in the gym and learn a dance to perform with the flash mob at the Wild Rumpus on Friday, October 24.

From 1:30 to 3 pm, celebrate Hispanic Heritage month with two miniature puppet shows created by Cecilia Cackley. The style of these shows is "teatro lambe lambe", which originated as a form of street theater in Brazil. Each show is performed in a box for one viewer at a time. The shows are short and will be repeated concurrently throughout these hours.

Registration is not required, but guests are invited to sign up to receive event communications: sugeni.us/ecb4.
