Golden Strip Career Center Students earn certifications and experience authentic, hands-on training in one of fifteen programs.

Golden Strip Career Center offers students the opportunity to take courses with job-skill driven curricula. Students can attend one of fifteen classes including Welding, Mechatronics, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, and many more! We provide the unique opportunity to pursue a technical career interest while earning high school credit and dual credit (college credit). Some programs are one year and some are two years with each culminating in students earning licenses, national certifications, or college credit. The courses are designed for students who are planning on pursuing a two-year associate degree, a four-year degree, or a career after graduation.

INTERN SPOTLIGHT: MIA PRUETTE

We are excited to recognize our very own Mia Pruette, who is gaining valuable real-world experience as a LaunchGVL intern!

Through this opportunity, Mia is taking her learning beyond the classroom, developing professional skills, gaining hands-on experience, and getting a firsthand look at what it takes to succeed in the workplace.

Opportunities like LaunchGVL help connect our students with local businesses and career pathways while giving them the confidence and experience they need to prepare for life after high school.

Way to go, Mia! We are proud of you for representing Golden Strip Career Center and taking this important step toward your future!

STATE CHAMPIONS!🏆

A huge congratulations to our very own McCoy Hall, Jeremy Lawrence, and Douglas Mattos for an outstanding performance at the State Junior Chef Competition in Columbia!

Hosted through the USDA Farm to School Initiative, the competition brought together talented student chefs from across South Carolina. Our team rose to the challenge, competing against eight other schools and bringing home the WIN with their delicious Pork, Grits and Greens Bowl!

But their journey isn’t over yet! McCoy, Jeremy, and Douglas will advance to the Southeastern Finals in Orlando, Florida, this April, where they will compete against other state finalists.

The stakes are exciting, with scholarship opportunities available to top competitors and the potential for a winning recipe to earn national recognition.

We could not be more proud of the talent, teamwork, creativity, and hard work these young men displayed.

Congratulations, gentlemen! Next stop: Orlando! Greenville County Schools - Career and Technical Education Greenville County Schools
