✨⛰️Day 6 of !

Big changes start with small actions, and knowing how to safely intervene can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

Supporting survivors doesn’t always mean having the perfect words or knowing exactly what to do. Sometimes, it means listening without judgment, checking in privately, challenging harmful attitudes when it’s safe, or connecting someone with resources.

Remember: You don’t have to have all the answers to show up for someone. Believe survivors, respect their choices, and remind them that they are not alone💜

💜 Walking together toward a safer future! 💜

Our Director joined the Bergen County Prosecutors Office and New Milford Councilman, Matt Seymour at Center for Hope & Safety’s Walk Together to End Domestic Violence event. We are proud to stand alongside our community partners in raising awareness, supporting survivors, and working toward a future free from domestic violence.

Together, we can make a difference✨

✨⛰️Day 4 of !

Big changes start with small actions. Today, we’re challenging victim-blaming and the harmful messages that can make survivors feel responsible for the abuse they experience.

Instead of asking, “Why didn’t you just leave?” let’s ask, “How can I support you?” Instead of placing blame on survivors, let’s hold those who choose to use abuse accountable.

The way we respond matters. Believe survivors, lead with compassion, and challenge victim-blaming when you hear it. Together, we can help create a culture where survivors feel supported, not judged 💜

Sometimes people don’t recognize sexual abuse right away. It doesn’t always look like what we see in movies or hear about in the media.
Sometimes it’s quiet, confusing, even normalized.

It can look like pressure, guilt, and feeling like you “should” instead of actually wanting to.

Consent should always be:
✔️ Freely given
✔️ Ongoing
✔️ Respected

If something didn’t feel right, that matters. You’re not overreacting, and you’re not alone.
