The PA Family Network is a program of Vision for Equality. Vision for Equality is pleased to announce a new statewide peer-to peer information and support initiative for families of people with intellectual disabilities and autism. The PA Family Network's activities are supported by the Office of Developmental Programs as part of Pennsylvania's Community of Practice: Supporting Families Throughout the Lifespan. Attention Caregivers! There is a NEW Caregiver Dental Hub, the first university-affiliated national resource dedicated to supporting caregivers who provide daily oral care for individuals with disabilities.

CaregiverDentalHub.org offers instructional videos, caregiver stories, expert demonstrations, and practical resources on topics such as choosing oral health products, preventing tooth decay, making healthier food choices, communicating with dental professionals, safe positioning techniques, and reducing stress during daily brushing and mouth care routines.

Visitors to the site learn directly from dentists, dental hygienists, caregivers, and other professionals through real-world demonstrations and conversations designed to answer common caregiver questions. Another feature of CaregiverDentalHub.org is its directory of disability-friendly dentists experienced in treating patients who may need special accommodations.

The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, with support from the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation, launched the Caregiver Dental Hub.

A message from the Pennsylvania Department of Human services...

Update to County Assistance Office (CAO) Hours of Operation

All CAOs, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) Customer Service Center, and the PA DHS Helpline currently have a delayed opening to the public of 11:00am on Thursdays. Starting November 5th 2026, they will have a delayed opening of 1:00pm on Thursdays.

The public will not be able to enter offices and calls will not be accepted before 1:00pm on Thursdays due to staff training. This will not impact hours of operation on other days of the week. Thursday delayed openings will continue for the foreseeable future.

Individuals can still submit an application or renewal, report a change, submit verification documents, and more anytime online at dhs.pa.gov/COMPASS
