Another day, another task checked off the list.

Our team continues working through Anderson-Dean Park, giving some long-overdue attention to the little things that make a big difference.

Here are some before and afters of some work the maintenance crew knocked out today, which included cleaning and edging underneath and around the bleachers and removing years of built-up dirt and debris.

There’s still plenty of work ahead, but our team is committed to continuing to raise the standard at Anderson-Dean Community Park!

Another great weekend at Anderson-Dean Community Park!

We welcomed baseball teams from across the state for a weekend tournament, wrapped up the Mercer Youth Soccer Association season with tournament play and saw plenty of our four-legged friends out enjoying the beautiful fall weather.

When the Mercer County Tourist Commission took over operations at Anderson-Dean Community Park earlier this month, one of our first priorities was making sure this special area received the attention and care it deserves.

Our Veterans Memorial has been cleaned up, weeds removed and the surrounding area cared for so that it can stand proudly as a place of remembrance and respect.

With Veterans Day approaching, we felt this was a good time to remind everyone that this memorial is here.

These spaces matter. They tell a story, honor sacrifice and deserve to be maintained with the care and dignity they represent.

The next time you’re at Anderson-Dean, we encourage you to take a few minutes to stop by the memorial and see it for yourself.

We’re proud to have this special place within our park, and even prouder of what it represents.

Cooler weather has arrived, but there was still plenty happening around Anderson-Dean Park this weekend!

Mercer Youth Soccer Association enjoyed a weekend of games as their seasons start to wind down, and the Harrodsburg Tree Board planted new trees along the walking track to help beautify the park.

It’s the little things that make a big difference!

We wanted to give you a quick glimpse at some of the smaller projects happening throughout Anderson-Dean Community Park. A little cleanup and edging can go a long way toward making our park look and feel its best.

A big shoutout to Tanner, Wyatt and Brycen for tackling this area and for all of the work they put in everyday throughout the park.

Taking care of a park this size is a full team effort, and we are proud of the work our entire team is putting in to improve the park experience one project at a time.

A big thank you to two local businesses helping us make improvements at Anderson-Dean Community Park!

JDF Concrete recently added a new concrete pad behind our maintenance shop that will allow us to install on-site diesel and gasoline tanks. This will make fueling our equipment much more convenient for our staff while saving valuable time and reducing unnecessary trips and expenses.

We also want to thank McGlone Construction for completing blacktop improvements around our pool area. We know there is still plenty of work to be done throughout the park, especially when it comes to updating and improving our blacktop, but this is a great start!

It takes an entire community to make Anderson-Dean the best it can be, and we’re thankful to have so many people and businesses willing to be part of what’s ahead.

COMING SOON: Community Trust Bank Dog Park 🐾

We’re excited to officially announce that a brand new dog park is coming to Anderson-Dean Community Park!

Work on the new Community Trust Bank Dog Park will begin in just a few weeks, bringing another new amenity to the park for our community (and our four-legged friends) to enjoy!

A HUGE THANK you to Community Trust Bank for making this exciting project possible.

Construction begins in just a few weeks, so stay tuned for updates and an official Grand Opening date!

BASKETBALL REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! 🏀

We’re excited to officially open registration for the Mercer County Youth Basketball League!

Registration is now available for basketball players, cheerleaders AND coaches for the upcoming season!

Divisions: Grades 1 & 2 • Grades 3 & 4 • Grades 5 & 6

And even better news: we’ve LOWERED the player registration fee this year! Our goal is to make it easier for more kids in our community to get involved, have fun and enjoy a great season of basketball.

DATES TO REMEMBER:
• Registration Closes — November 9
• Evaluations — Sunday, November 15
• Practices Begin — After Thanksgiving Week
• Games Begin — January 2027

Our first few days at Anderson-Dean!

It’s been a busy and exciting first few days since the Harrodsburg/Mercer County Tourist Commission officially took over the day-to-day operations of Anderson-Dean Community Park on October 1!

And what better way to start than seeing the park full of activities, families, athletes and people enjoying everything the park has to offer.

Stay tuned as we have plenty of exciting plans for the future!
