Kristy Moore for School Board I'm a public school teacher & parent of two who cares deeply about quality public education in the EASD.

I believe that public school boards should be non-partisan, and that personal, political, and religious agendas have no place in our public schools.

From my public comments this evening: "I’m encouraging everyone to remember this as they consider their votes on Tuesday: if we want things to improve *in here,* then we must have elected officials who truly believe in public education *out there.* Officials who will support and protect this vital public service, not take measures to destroy it."

It matters greatly to me that those who represent me in Harrisburg and Washington D.C. are pro-public education. I know we are all tired of the mailers, the ads, the texts... but it's almost over! Make sure you have a plan to vote Tuesday, November 3rd! 🗳🇺🇸

Sorry I am a little late! I had to drop a kid off in Palmyra. 🎻

It never fails! 😅 This was on the way to Sheetz during my lunch break earlier today. Tomorrow's theme is "College and Career Day," so you'll catch me in a King's College sweatshirt at the school board meeting. That's not so bad!😅 See you tomorrow at 6pm! 💙🐻

This resonates, in our community especially.

I had a conversation today about the comments made during the last meeting by one of our district's National Merit Scholars who explained how the board's decision to defund field trips negatively affected her experience as a member of the prestigious Model UN. The award-winning club's trips to other schools to compete were fully funded in the past. They must now fundraise for things like transportation, and substitute teachers so their moderator can join them. This is in addition to staying on top of their studies and other activities.

Is this not the exact program we SHOULD be funding and supporting?

The budget for the school library in the 2025-26 school year: $0.

Thank you to author Matt Haig for this post! I couldn't agree more!

With Lancaster County at the epicenter of a multistate measles outbreak, residents of Elizabethtown Area School District naturally have questions about how the district is responding to news that a

I have been showing up and speaking up in the EASD since 2018. Clearly, I feel so strongly about quality public education that nothing can deter me. 😅

I have two children enrolled here. We own our home. I care deeply about this community. Every comment, every post, every conversation, every knock on your doors is rooted in my desire to work persistently for positive change.

And sometimes that means needing to be critical of conditions, decisions, and policies.

This past August, I shared 10 positive suggestions for ways our district could be more student-centered. I was told to lower my voice. This past meeting, I advocated for the preservation of block scheduling at the high school. (Middle & elementary families, this should be really important for you to understand!)

It is my pride in this district and the value I place in quality public education that keeps me coming back. I work alongside some really great people who feel this way, too. We won't give up. 🐻💙

Let's go, Bears! Best wishes to these student athletes tomorrow! 💙🐻🏈📣
