Shout out to one of our board members! Well deserved Anna Van Acker

Each week, Wayne County BPW celebrates the passion, purpose, and person behind Wayne County’s professional women and women-owned businesses. This week, meet Anna Van Acker, Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer II at The Dime Bank.

🤝The Passion🤝
Anna is passionate about helping local businesses grow, adapt, and succeed. Throughout her career in community banking, she has worked with entrepreneurs, real estate investors, manufacturers, nonprofits, and family-owned businesses across Northeastern Pennsylvania. While she enjoys every facet of commercial lending, she has developed particular expertise in SBA financing and takes pride in guiding business owners through complex transactions that create jobs and strengthen local communities. Believing that growth happens outside our comfort zones, Anna values building long-term relationships with her customers and serving as a trusted financial partner throughout their journey.

❤️The Purpose❤️
Anna’s commitment to her community extends far beyond the bank. She serves on the boards of NEPA Alliance, the Human Resources Center, PAWS of NEPA, and her family’s business, Coutts Berry Farms, LLC, and is Treasurer of the Honesdale Area Jaycees. She is especially passionate about supporting organizations that promote economic development, community engagement, animal welfare, and quality of life throughout the region.

👨‍👩‍👦The Person📚
When she’s not helping businesses reach their goals, Anna loves spending time with her husband, Mark, their son, Jack, and their Great Pyrenees and Bernese Mountain Dog mix, Faust. An avid reader and traveler, she especially enjoys exploring Europe and experiencing different cultures. She also enjoys s***t shooting and volunteering, and she’s always happy for a chance to put her French language skills to use.

💚 Celebrating DSP Week & Housekeeping Week! 🧹✨

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible Direct Support Professionals who make a difference every day—and we also want to shine a light on another group whose contributions can sometimes go unnoticed: the people we support at HRC who work in housekeeping and janitorial roles.

From keeping offices clean and welcoming to making sure common spaces, businesses, and facilities are safe and well-maintained, these hardworking individuals play a vital role in the communities where they work. Their dedication, attention to detail, reliability, and pride in a job well done deserve to be recognized.

🧹 Their work matters.
đź’Ş Their contributions matter.
đź’š Their place in the workforce matters.

Housekeeping and janitorial work is often behind the scenes, but the impact is seen and felt every day. The people we support are not only receiving services—they are employees, coworkers, teammates, and valued members of their communities.

During DSP Week and Housekeeping Week, we are proud to celebrate ALL the ways the people we support contribute, work, grow, and make a difference.

Thank you to everyone who helps create opportunities for meaningful employment and independence. And to our hardworking HRC folks: we see you, we appreciate you, and we are proud of you! 💚🧡

💚🧡 DSP RECOGNITION WEEK SPOTLIGHT 🧡💚

Celebrating Ashley Hnatko! 🌟

As we wrap up DSP Recognition Week, we are excited to recognize Ashley Hnatko for her dedication, compassion, and commitment to the individuals she supports.

Sarah and Crystal would like to acknowledge Ashley for the wonderful work she has been doing at HRC. Recently, Ashley transitioned from part-time to full-time, and she made the transition incredibly smooth for both HRC and the individuals she serves.

Those who have had the opportunity to see Ashley work with the individuals she supports have witnessed the positive relationships she builds. By the end of her very first visit, individuals were comfortable with Ashley and happy to have her as their Direct Support Professional. đź’š

Ashley is considerate, compassionate, efficient, and eager to learn and grow. We have received very positive feedback about both her work and her personality, and it is clear that she brings genuine care and dedication to her role.

Thank you, Ashley, for everything you do! Your willingness to learn, your compassionate approach, and the positive relationships you build with the individuals you support are truly appreciated.

We are proud to recognize you during DSP Recognition Week and grateful to have you as part of the HRC family!

💚🧡 Thank you for making a difference every day! 🧡💚

💚🧡 CELEBRATING OUR PIKE VTC TEAM! 🧡💚

“Being the newer person on the team, I couldn’t have joined a better team!”

That sentiment perfectly captures the spirit of the Pike VTC team! 🌟

This team works together to accomplish whatever is thrown their way—from day-to-day changes and unexpected challenges to new opportunities—and they do it like champions, always finding a way to have some fun along the way! 🙌

Each member of the Pike VTC team brings a unique skill set, personality, and approach to supporting the individuals we serve. Together, they are thriving—and it shows! 💚

Every day, the individuals at Pike VTC arrive excited and ready to spend their day with their wonderful Direct Support Professionals. Norma, Gio, and Cristal bring kindness, compassion, humor, motivation, hard work, thoughtfulness, and respect to everything they do. They help the individuals they support—and each other—grow a little more each day, just like their garden. 🌱

A special thank-you goes to Ryan O’Kelly, who leads this incredible team, and to everyone who contributes to making the Pike Building such a wonderful place to be!

👏 Thank you, Gio, Cristal, Norma, James, Lena, Grant, and Conchetta, for everything you do each and every day. Your dedication and teamwork make a difference in the lives of the individuals we support and throughout the HRC family.

We are so grateful for each and every one of you!

💚🧡 THE WORK OF A DSP 🧡💚

The work of a Direct Support Professional requires a caring heart, a good amount of flexibility, patience, compassion, and true commitment, and our DSP team demonstrates these qualities each and every day.

They show up ready to support, encourage, advocate, adapt, and make a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve.

From the big accomplishments to the everyday moments, our DSPs help create opportunities for individuals to make choices, build independence, enjoy meaningful experiences, and live their best lives.

We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact our DSPs have on our programs and, most importantly, on the lives of the individuals we support.

Thank you to our amazing DSP team for everything you do! Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and we are proud to celebrate you during DSP Recognition Week—and every week!

💚🧡 Your heart. Your dedication. Your impact. 🧡💚
