Growing Hope in Hudson!

The Hudson Health Department (HHD) was excited to partner with Hudson High School's Interact Club on a special community project-planting a Hope Garden through the Yellow Tulip Project! The YTP is a youth-driven campaign to smash the stigma around mental health.

A special thank you to Pam Porter, Advisor for HHS Interact Club, and the students for getting their hands dirty, sharing their time, and helping us bring this meaningful project to life. We look forward to seeing these tulips bloom in the spring!

A big thank you to Emerson Health for providing us the tulip bulbs. To learn more about the Yellow Tulip Project, please visit https://theyellowtulipproject.org/

So excited to share that HPS will be showing the ScreenAgers video series. Please attend if possible and share these screening opportunities.

Just a reminder that the district will be holding five showings this year of the Screenagers videos. Below is the schedule:

“Weed’s legal now. What’s the big deal?”

It’s a fair question, and one a lot of teens may have.
Legal for adults does not mean risk-free for teens. The adolescent brain is still developing, and cannabis use during these years can have different effects than it does for adults.

The goal isn’t to lecture. It’s to give parents and caregivers a simple way to start the conversation, answer questions honestly, and keep talking as their teen gets older.

💬 Ask what they’ve heard.
👂 Listen before jumping in.
📚 Share accurate information.
🔁 Keep the conversation going.

Talk early. Talk often.

As parents, caregivers, and community members, we all play an important role in supporting the well-being of our children. Recognizing signs of stress and emotional distress early and letting kids know they’re not alone can make a meaningful difference. Let’s continue to create a community where every child feels supported, heard, and cared for. 💚

Children’s mental health is vital for overall well-being. Stress from school or family changes can take a toll on them, so recognizing the signs of distress is key. Families, caregivers & communities all play a role in helping kids thrive! samhsa.gov/find-support/helping-someone/helping-your-child

Hudson Parents!! Please take this survey to help shaping the path of youth substance prevention and awareness in our community!

📣 Parents & Caregivers: We want to hear from YOU!

The 2026 CMSAPC Parent/Caregiver Attitudes on Youth Substance Use Survey is now open, and your thoughts, experiences, and ideas can directly help shape prevention programming for the young people you care about.

As parents and caregivers, you have an important perspective on the challenges youth are facing, the conversations happening at home, and the kinds of information and support families actually need. Your feedback helps us make sure our programs and messaging reflect the real experiences of our communities.

This year’s survey is shorter than in previous years and there is one regional survey for all CMSAPC communities.

✅ Take the survey here:
https://trendline.questionpro.com/CMSAPC2026

Please consider taking a few minutes to participate and sharing the survey with other parents and caregivers. The more voices we hear from, the better we can understand what families need and use that information to guide future youth prevention efforts across our region.

Thank you for helping us make sure parent and caregiver voices are part of the conversation. 💬

Another screening and discussion this week. "Our American Family" offers an honest and personal look at addiction, recovery, and the impact substance use can have on an entire family. This powerful documentary reminds us that substance use affects more than just one person-and that connection, compassion and support matter.

Sharing this in-person opportunity to view "THC INC", a documentary exploring today's high-potency cannabis landscape and its impact on youth, familes, and communities. It's an important conversation for parents, educators, and anyone working to prevent youth substance use. Check it out and join the conversation!
