Reunited!

When an 11-year-old brother lost track of his 8-year-old sister on a trail near Lake Artemesia, officers jumped into action.

Thanks to a thorough response, officers quickly discovered the sister had safely headed home. Parents were notified, and the siblings are happily back together! ❤️

The Maryland-National Capital Park Police’s Potomac River Waterfront Unit joined forces with the Prince George’s County Police Department’s (PGPD) Marine Unit for tactical and response training off the shores of the National Harbor.

“Park Police is aware that the Office of the Attorney General of Maryland has released body worn camera footage from our officer involved shooting at Fort Washington Park. We support the release of the body worn camera footage because we recognize the public’s interest in understanding what occurred, and we also believe transparency helps maintain public trust.

Use of force incidents, especially deadly use of force, can be concerning and difficult to process. We remain committed to transparency and accountability throughout this investigative process.

This remains an ongoing investigation by the Office of the Attorney General of Maryland. To preserve the integrity of the investigation and to protect the rights of all parties involved, The Maryland-National Capital Park Police will have no further comment at this time.”
