Different uniforms. One mission. Be there when it matters.
Today, on National First Responders Day, the Indian Shores Police Department honors the law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and 911 dispatchers who answer the call.

Behind every response is a person who puts someone else’s emergency ahead of their own plans. Behind every uniform is a family sharing in that commitment.

To our ISPD team and our public safety partners serving Indian Shores and Redington Shores: thank you for your courage, compassion, and commitment to our communities.

On the hardest days, we stand together. Every day, we’re proud to serve.

Join us in thanking a first responder today!!

Indian Shores Police Department was awarded Re-Accreditation by The Florida Police Accreditation Coalition, at the Fall Conference. The award, a culmination of three years meeting the highest standards in policing, is difficult to achieve and maintain.

“The benefits to our agency, community, residents, and visitors are tremendous,” said Police Chief Lee Ann Holroyd. “Everyone that interacts with ISPD, knows they are dealing with the best law enforcement officers, abiding by the highest standards in the profession,” Chief Holroyd continued.
The process was initiated by retired Chief Rick Swann and continued when Chief Holroyd was appointed.

Deputy Chief, Captain Danny Doherty and Accreditation Manager, Corporal Kevyn Andrews, attended the conference with Chief Holroyd. “When your agency is called before the entire Commission, it is truly an honor,” advised Chief Holroyd. While speaking, Chief Holroyd thanked her entire agency, especially Corporal Andrews for all of the hard work they do everyday. The Chief went on to explain how important the support of The Town of Indian Shores, and The Town of Redington Shores is in the process. “Town Administrators, Town Managers, Mayors, Commissioners and Council Members are an integral part of the success. Their support is the reason we remain so well trained and professional, “ stated Chief Holroyd.

🌊 COASTAL WEATHER ADVISORY
Indian Shores & Redington Shores
Friday, October 9, 2026

The Indian Shores Police Department is monitoring elevated surf and coastal conditions affecting our shoreline.

Beach conditions observed this afternoon show rough surf and significant wave action, with additional concerns as we approach the overnight (King) high tide, expected around midnight to 1:00 a.m. Saturday.

⚠️ NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ADVISORIES

• Coastal Flood Advisory: Through 8 a.m. Saturday.

• High Surf Advisory: Through 8 a.m. Saturday.

• High Rip Current Risk: Through 8 p.m. Saturday.

WHAT RESIDENTS AND VISITORS SHOULD KNOW

🌊 Dangerous surf and rip currents are present or expected. Stay out of the water.

🏖️ Elevated wave action may cause localized beach erosion and affect beach access areas.

đź’§ Minor coastal flooding is possible in low-lying areas, particularly around the overnight high tide.

đźš— Use caution when traveling near flood-prone areas. Never drive through flooded roads.

Residents and visitors, especially those with property in low-lying coastal areas, are encouraged to remain aware of changing conditions and take appropriate precautions.

We will continue monitoring conditions and provide updates as necessary.
