Applications for the 2026 Light Up Liberty Lamp Post Decorating Contest are now OPEN! We're inviting local businesses, organizations and community groups to help bring some holiday cheer to Liberty Park!

🎁 Show off your creativity and holiday spirit by decorating a lamp post at Liberty Park, where your festive display will be enjoyed by visitors throughout the holiday season.

Participating lamp posts will be featured during the official lighting event on Saturday, December 5th, with awards presented in three categories:

🇺🇸 6th Annual Students Feeding Veterans Food Drive 🇺🇸

The students at CREST School in Citrus County are once again showing their dedication to those who have served our country. The Annual Students Feeding Veterans Food Drive helps provide essential food and supplies to local veterans in need, and they need your help to make it a success.

Donation Dates: November 2 – December 14
Drop-off Location: Inverness City Hall, 212 W. Main St., Inverness, FL 34450
(Additional drop-off locations are listed on the flyer.)

Please donate nonperishable food items only. Money, gift cards and perishable items cannot be accepted.

🎃🐢 Cooterween wrapped up Cootertober with a night full of family fun in Inverness! 🎃🐢

Families filled the downtown square Saturday evening for trick-or-treating, costumes, music, Touch-a-Truck and plenty of candy as we celebrated the final event of this year’s Cootertober.

👏 A huge thank you to all of the local businesses, organizations and community partners who joined us, handed out treats and helped create a fun, welcoming Halloween night for families throughout our community.

🏆 And congratulations to all of our youth costume contest winners! We loved seeing all of the creativity that made its way downtown this year.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Cootertober and helped make another month of events in Inverness such a memorable one. We’ll see you next year! 🎃🐢

🎨 The Inverness Festival of the Arts returns to Downtown Inverness! 🎨

Since 1971, the Inverness Festival of the Arts has celebrated creativity, craftsmanship and community in the heart of Downtown Inverness.

This year’s festival brings together talented artists and makers from across the country, along with more hands-on activities, live art experiences and an expanded lineup of entertainment throughout the weekend. Enjoy performances from school bands, student performers, performing arts groups and more while exploring a wide variety of fine art and fine crafts.

Saturday also features extended festival hours until 7 PM, giving visitors even more time to shop, explore and enjoy everything happening downtown.

Join us for Movie in the Park: Toy Story 5 on Friday, November 6 at Liberty Park. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets for a FREE, family-friendly movie showing under the stars.

🎬 Toy Story 5 (2026): Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest of the gang's jobs are challenged when they're introduced to electronics, a new threat to playtime.

🎃 Join our partners at the Citrus County Sheriff's Office for the CCSO Trunk or Treat! 🍬

Join the Citrus County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, October 28 from 6–8 PM at the CCSO Main Operations location for a FREE, family-friendly evening of trick-or-treating and community fun.

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office will be joined by Citrus County Fire Rescue, Inverness Fire Department and Crystal River Fire Department to hand out candy, meet local families and showcase specialty vehicles from throughout the agencies.

🌶️🏆 The competition was cooking at the 2026 Cootertober Chili Cookoff & Co****le Competition!

The Depot stayed busy throughout the afternoon as chili teams served up their best recipes and more than 20 co****le teams took to the boards to battle it out for awards!
