Your next nursing role could mean the world to someone who served.

OGJVAMC is hiring RNs for PM and night shifts in our Community Living Center. You’ll care for Veterans, build relationships, and help make their days a little better. It’s meaningful work, backed by federal benefits: a pension, a Thrift Savings Plan (similar to a 401(k)) with up to 5% matching, and several healthcare plans to choose from.

Recruitment incentives and student loan repayment or forgiveness programs may also be available.

Scam Alert: Military Funeral Honors

The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center is warning Veterans and their families about a scam targeting families of deceased Veterans, especially those arranging military funeral honors.

Scammers are impersonating members of the Armed Forces, honor guards, or government agencies. They falsely claim that families must purchase a refundable “insurance policy” to cover potential liability during the funeral service. Some callers request credit card information and threaten to cancel the military honors detail if payment is not made.

Military funeral honors are an earned benefit provided at no cost. Payment is never required.

If you receive one of these calls:

Hang up and do not provide personal or financial information.
Contact the funeral home or VA staff assisting with the arrangements.
Report the scam to the Federal Trade Commission at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

Please share this information to help protect Veterans and their families.
