They used AI to fake a picture of me, then texted and mailed it to my neighbors. Some of you have asked me if it's true. Of course it's not.

Why does my video carry an AI disclaimer? Because it shows their mailer, and Indiana law requires one, even if it’s a fake of me done by someone else. Thank you, Julie Olthoff, for writing that law. The text that the SMCC sent out did not include that disclaimer. All of the footage of me is 100% real.

That mailer was paid for by the Indiana Senate Majority Campaign Committee (SMCC). I'm not a rich guy, and all I've got is my word. I work a full-time job, I've held almost 20 town halls, I've been in every county in this district, and I'll represent you whether you vote for me or not.

Daryl Schmitt for Indiana, you've sat next to me at forums. You know that's not who I am.

Facebook doesn't allow new political ads in the last week before an election, so we can't pay to put this in front of the people who got that mailer here. I’m sure that was intentional. It only reaches you if you pass it along. Please share, comment, and like this post so others will see it.

Vote Tuesday, November 3. That's how we answer this.

Thank you to the IN 8th District Young Dems for putting this together and for letting me be part of it. It's true. Young voters decide this election if they show up, and in a district like ours, a few hundred votes could be the margin. So make your plan now. Pick the day, pick the time, and figure out your ride.
