WHAT: Weather Closure tonight

Scenic VT-108 (Smugglers Notch) between Cambridge and Stowe will be CLOSING tonight 10/16 at 6pm due to incoming weather. The roadway will be reassessed and potentially reopened on Monday 10/19.
Notice will be issued upon reopening via New England 511.

This evening our crews traveled into the back country to conduct some off road ATV and UTV operations with a simulated wildland fire component. Personnel were tasked to assemble proper equipment, and ferry all equipment to a location away from normal water sources, utilize wildland fire pumps and advance hose lines to elevated locations.

How do you conduct endurance training? Our team took the opportunity to put on their firefighting gear, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), and play a game of kick ball on the diamond. Think some folks will sleep pretty good tonight. What do you think?
