আজ আমরা ভাষা শহীদদের শ্রদ্ধার সাথে স্মরণ করছি। আমাদের ভাষা ও সংস্কৃতি আমাদের পরিচয়ের মূল ভিত্তি। ২১শে ফেব্রুয়ারি বিশ্বজুড়ে আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস হিসেবে স্বীকৃত, এটি আমাদের জন্য এক বিরাট সম্মান। আমেরিকান বাংলা ক্লাবের পক্ষ থেকে আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবসে সবাইকে জানাই আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা ও অভিনন্দন।

খালেদা জিয়া ছিলেন বাংলাদেশের এক উল্লেখযোগ্য রাজনৈতিক ব্যক্তিত্ব যিনি দুইবার প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন। তিনি বাংলাদেশের প্রথম নারী প্রধানমন্ত্রী এবং মুসলিম বিশ্বের দ্বিতীয় মহিলা প্রধানমন্ত্রী। বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দলের চেয়ারপারসন হিসেবে তিনি দলের নেতৃত্ব দিয়েছেন, যা তার স্বামী জিয়াউর রহমান প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছিলেন। আমরা আমেরিকার বাংলা ক্লাবের পক্ষ থেকে তার মৃত্যুতে গভীর দুঃখ প্রকাশ করছি।
