Has anyone seen a 28 oz Black and Purple Raw Steel bat? It went missing at our softball tournament at the end of August

Members spent the afternoon at Seward Volunteer Fire Company’s Block Party.

While there a few things happened:

Captain Yerty presented a “Winnings” check from our Annual Captain Dill Softball Tournament in the amount of $971.25 to Sewards Chief Bob Rhodes and president Evan Albaugh

We utilized our deck gun and tanker capability for the kids to cool off (we’re sorry to the parents who have to wash muddy clothes).

Firefighter Jeff Tarbay stole the trophy for best tanker.

Thank you to Seward VFC and everyone involved in hosting this event! Fireworks at 8pm

This evening Captain Derek Yerty went to the Planet Fitness in Indiana to do the 9/11 Stair Climb Challenge.

Even though he’s another year older, he smashed his personal best time of 52 minutes and 54 seconds. His time this year was 43 minutes and 10 seconds non stop to reach the top of 2071 stairs of the 110 story World Trade Center!

Captain Yerty didn’t just stop after the 2071 stairs… he then walked a mile on the treadmill in 19 minutes 39 seconds.

Keep in mind…he did this all while wearing full turnout gear with a SCBA. All of which weighed in at a whopping 57.5lbs of added weight!

We have NOT forgotten!
