October 13, 2026 @ 8:14 am. We are in the process of shutting down the 300 Block of Barr Elm and Anderson to repair a possible main break. We will keep the page updated as new information is gained.

On Tuesday October 13, 2026 we will be performing a possible water main break repair on Barr Elms. At this time we are unsure if it is the water main leaking or the customers service line leaking. We had a similar situation today on Schorie which turned out to be the customers private service line leaking. This could also be the same situation. When the crew comes out Tuesday to investigate we will know once the main and service line are exposed which one it is. If it turns out to be a water main break we will have to shut down the 300 Block of Barr Elms and Anderson to preform the repair. If it is the customers service line it will be their responsibility to make the repair. At this time we only anticipate needing to shut down the one alley. If more streets shall need shut down to make the repair at that time we will do so and update the page with the new information. If it does turn out to be a water main break you will be without water while we perform the repair. If it turns out to be the customers service line we will not have to shut the water main down to make the repair. Please check back to this post for future updates and information.

Update2: Today we turned the water service off to the home that was leaking to do some investigating. The way the water was presenting made us believe it was not a water main break. We found that after shutting the Bbox off the water leak stopped. This showed us it's actually the customers service line leaking. It's the customers responsibility to repair private service lines. With this new information we will not need to shut down the main for any repairs at that location.

Update 1: We have the repair scheduled for Tuesday October 13, 2026 at 8:30 am. We will begin shutting down the streets at 7:45 am. If we are able to access the shut off valves in the alleys. We will only need to shut down Schorie and Marigold during the repair. If we are unable to access those valves we will be forced to shut more streets down. We will be updating the page as we gain more information.

We have found a main break on Schorie. We are contacting the company to fix it. We will update the page when we have more information. During this time your water pressure will be low. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

We are currently without power at both locations. We have reported this to ComEd. They have provided a preliminary restore time of 4 am. At this time we are asking people to only use water if it's absolutely necessary. We are hoping the power is restored by 4 am so we do not lose all the pressure. We will update the page as we gain more information.

Update 3: 2:33 pm. The water main repairs are completed. We are now building the pressure back up and that will take a couple hours. We are expecting the pressure to be back to normal no later than 5 pm today.

Update 2: 1:09 pm. The main repair was completed and before we close everything up we turn the water back on to ensure no leaks. Well unfortunately they found another slice in the pipe a few feet away from the one location. We had to then shut everything back down and open the hole further to locate the break. They have been actively working since 8:45 am today and due to this delay we are not sure exactly how much longer the water will be off while we work on getting the main repaired. It will be back on today we can guarantee that we just can't provide and exact time the repair will be completed. We will provide updates as we gain new information.

Update 1: 8:45 am the crew is here and starting the water main repair.

9-14-26 8:15 am. We have started shutting down the water so the area can dry out for the crew to start the repair when they arrive. We did delay the process so those getting ready for work and school were able to use the water. We will be shutting down more streets than anticipated due to 2 vehicles blocking the shut off valves. We will now be adding S. Park and Schorie to the list of streets to be off while we make the repair. Please check back to this post for all updates.

9-13-26 @ 2:53 pm. This is the water main break that is causing the water pressure to be reduced. The repair crew is scheduled to arrive around 8:30 am on 9-14-26. We will start shutting off the water mains around 7:30 am to reduce the excess water in the area. This will cause homes to be without water while we preform the repair. If things go as planned we will be shutting down Peale, Jessie, Barr Elm and part of Anderson. If needed we may have to close off the out going water at both pump houses due to the main break being on the large main connecting the two buildings. We anticipate the repair and the pressure stabilization to be completed around 2 pm tomorrow. We will be updating the page as we gain more information.

Update 3: The company just messaged me about the main break repair. They will be here at 8:30 am Monday 9-14-26. We will start shutting down the mains around 7:30 am to reduce the water in the area so the work can be done more efficiently. The following streets will be without water during the main repair: Barr Elm, Jessie, Anderson and Peale. Due to the break being on the large main that connects the 2 pump houses we may need to shut down the outgoing water at the pump houses. If we need to do this the water will be off for approximately 2-3 hours while the repair is made. We do not anticipate needing to do that but we can never be to prepared. Once the repair is made we will begin the process of building the pressure back up. We are anticipating everything to be completed around 2 pm. We will be updating the page as we gain more information.

Update 2: The company we use said they will be out tomorrow to fix the main break. It being a weekend no one is available. When we get more information we will update the post.

Update: We have contacted the company that does our repairs. They are going to get back to us and let us know when they can come out. We do know it will not be fixed today. They are currently on another job. Once we have more information on when they will be out I will update this post. You will experience low pressure while we wait for this break to be repaired. We are working on building pressure throughout the system to help offset the low pressure. Unfortunately with usage it will cause the pressure to fluctuate until we are able to get the crew out to do the repair.

Water main break on Jessie. We are in the process of getting the crew out to fix it. We will update the page as we gain more information.

Update 4 @ 9:22 pm. The water pressure is back to almost normal. If you are experiencing air in your water lines or discoloration in your water you will need to do the following; you will need to run the water spigot outside for a couple minutes to clear the air or discolored water from the line. It shouldn't take more than a couple minutes. If you have a garden you can water the garden with the water, even if discolored it will not harm your garden or flowers. This will help reduce your sink screens from getting clogged. If your screens are clogged unscrew them and tap on counter a few times to remove the sentiment from the screen then screw it back on. That will fix your issues. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us and we will be more than happy to answer any questions.

Update 3 @ 7:20 pm. Power has been restored. We are now working on building the pressure back up. This will take approximately 5-6 hours. We are very sorry for the inconvenience and will be working through the night to regain the pressure.

Update 2 @ 6:41 pm: ComEd is still working on getting the power bank restored. We have exhausted the stocked water supply. You will be without water in certain parts of the system. We are doing our best to build the pressure at the one location but the usage is so high it's being used before we can store it. ComEd said a few more hours and they will not give an exact time. I was told the power will be on when it's on. That's not the answer we were looking for but the crews are working as fast and safely as possible to get the power restored. Once it's restored it will take approximately 4-6 hours to stabilize. Once the power is restored I will update the page with more information.

Update 1 @ 3:29 pm: ComEd had to disconnect the power bank to replace the pole and a very large tree fell next door to the building. The tree pulled the lines down and they have to replace them. The ComEd workers said once the pole is fully replaced the power will be restored. He said it will typically take a few hours. Once the power is restored we will begin the work on stabilizing the water pressure. We will update the page as we gain new information.

Currently ComEd is working on replacing a utility pole that broke during the storm. In order to replace the pole they had to shut the power down at one of our locations. At this time we are operating on one well house. It is the smaller of the two. We are asking customers to not use the water unless it's absolutely necessary. This way the system doesn't get drained and result in needing a boil order. So we are asking customers to reframe from using the water until the power is restored. We will keep the page updated as we gain new information. We thank you all for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
