🔥🚒 Did you know how Fire Prevention Week started?

Fire Prevention Week began in 1922, when the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) established the first national observance to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.

The Great Chicago Fire began on October 8, 1871, and burned for two days, destroying thousands of buildings and leaving more than 100,000 people homeless.

Today, Fire Prevention Week serves as a reminder that fire safety and prevention can save lives and protect our communities.

Over the years, the focus has evolved, but the message remains the same:

🔥 Prevent fires. Be prepared. Stay safe. 🚒

Keep following along as we continue celebrating Fire Prevention Week and introducing the members of our department!
