On Tuesday night, the South County Chiefs—consisting of Kingwood Fire (16), Lambertville Fire (17), Raritan Township Fire (21), West Amwell Fire (26), Delaware Township Fire (47), Amwell Valley Fire (48), and Flemington Fire (49)—gathered at Station 48 for a "show and tell" of the equipment carried on our apparatus. This hands-on review helps ensure seamless coordination when working mutual aid incidents together. The South County Chiefs meet every other month to review past incidents, discuss operational challenges, and better prepare our companies for future calls.

Tonight at 18:50 hours, the West Amwell Fire Company (WAFCO) was dispatched to assist Station 17 Fire with an alarm activation at the Heritage Village Apartments. Station 17 had received two simultaneous alarm calls within seconds of each other, both at high-hazard buildings. The Rescue Engine 17 officer requested Station 26 to respond and cover the second incident.
Chief 26 (Ent), Deputy Chief 26 (Siwy), Engine 26 (BC Fozman), and Rescue 26 (AC Hoagland) responded. Chief 26 arrived on the scene, established command, and noted that the alarm was active and tenants were evacuating due to a smoke condition on the second floor.
Further investigation revealed the smoke was caused by careless cooking; a burnt pot of food had caught fire, which then spread to a nearby plastic bin and a towel. Crews set up multiple positive-pressure fans to ventilate the floor before clearing the scene.

Again at 20:38 hrs, WAFCo was dispatched to a reported car fire on Route 179, called in by the West Amwell Police Department.
The Chief, Deputy Chief, Engine, and Rescue units all responded within one minute of the dispatch. Deputy Chief 26 arrived on scene to find smoke in the area stemming from a small engine compartment fire. Crews quickly deployed the booster line from Engine 26 to fully extinguish the fire. Once the tow company arrived to remove the vehicle, all units cleared the scene.

Tonight, Chief, Deputy, Utility, Quint, and Engine 26 conducted building familiarization drills throughout the township. Crews walked around various structures to review their design, layout, and occupancies. This training is crucial for ensuring all members are familiar with the properties and surroundings in our response area.

On Monday, October 12, Engine 26 ( DC Siwy) and Chief Ent visited Half Pint Daycare for their yearly fire prevention program. Members asked questions about 911 and what to do during emergency situations. The members then demonstrated their equipment and gear before letting the kids climb inside the engine to sit in the firefighters' seats.

Thursday night, Engine 26( BC Fozman) and Deputy Siwy went to New Hope Eagle Fire Companies annual fire prevention and open house.
Engine 26 and Car 26-1 were on display with other Hunterdon and Bucks County emergency services units for the public to see.

This morning at 9:12 AM, the West Amwell Fire Company, along with Engine 48, 48 Rescue , and 17 Rescue, were dispatched to MVA Box 2684 for a reported single-vehicle accident involving a car into a pole with wires down.Chief 26 (Ent) arrived first on scene, established command, and confirmed that one occupant was still inside the vehicle but not trapped. Crews from Rescue 26 (Battalion Chief Fozman), Engine 26, and Engine 48 worked quickly to stabilize the vehicle using Junk Yard Dog struts and cribbing before safely assisting the occupant out. JCP&L responded to the scene to secure the downed power lines.
Fire company crews remained on scene to secure the area until the vehicle was cleared by the towing company.
