What an incredible day! Our 2nd Annual White Cane Walk brought our Lighthouse of Pinellas community together for a day filled with music, laughter, hands-on activities, connection, and awareness!

Although we had to postpone our original event due to rain, our amazing community pivoted right alongside us, and we couldn't be more grateful for the incredible turnout at our facility the following weekend!

From learning about braille and white cane safety to trying our blindfolded white cane obstacle course, guests of all ages came together to celebrate independence and support individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

A HUGE thank-you to our sponsors, participants, fundraising teams, volunteers, vendors, and staff for making this day so special. Your support helps us continue advancing independence and quality of life throughout Pinellas County!

And guess what? It's NOT too late to support the White Cane Walk! Our fundraising website is open through November 30, 2026. Whether you support an individual, a team, or the overall mission of Lighthouse of Pinellas, every gift makes a difference!

Our students had an absolute fang-tastic time attending Winter Haven's Halloween Party, where four Florida nonprofit organizations serving individuals who are blind or visually impaired came together for an evening of fun, friendship, and community.

From hauntingly good costumes and monster mash-worthy dancing to glow-in-the-dark slime, tasty treats, and plenty of laughter, the night was packed with Halloween magic around every corner! ๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ๐ŸŽƒ

Events like these provide meaningful opportunities for our students to build social connections, meet peers from across the state, and create memories that are simply boo-tiful.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this evening such a scream! ๐Ÿ‘ป

In our Children's Program, students learn how to identify and manage money as individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

Through hands-on activities, students explored a variety of techniques, including folding bills in different ways to distinguish denominations, feeling the unique ridges and edges of coins, and using accessible tools and smartphone apps to identify currency independently.

These practical lessons help students build confidence and develop essential life skills they can use every day, from making purchases to managing their own money with greater independence.

๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ๐ŸŽƒ Our Trail 'N Treat event was absolutely spook-tacular! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ

Little witches, cats, and superheroes filled Lighthouse of Pinellas for a day of frightfully fun adventures! Our amazing team transformed the entire building into a Halloween wonderland, creating a festive experience for our Early Intervention and Children's Program students and their families.

From boo-tiful arts and crafts to fang-tastic games and activities, our Youth Programs team and volunteers worked their magic to make sure there was fun around every corner.

We'd also like to give a howling good thank you to Dogs Inc for joining us and bringing two of their adorable skilled companion dogs. They were a real treat!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a hauntingly happy success. We can't wait to do it again next year!
