🏡 Keeping families housed can change the future for children.

In 2025, Family Promise of Lawrence served 322 children through our eviction prevention program.

98% of those children avoided eviction.

Those numbers represent children whose families were able to avoid the disruption of eviction and work toward greater housing stability.

Preventing a housing crisis before it escalates matters. It can help families maintain stability while children continue growing, learning, and being kids

During Family Promise Week, we’re reminded that providing support at the right time can make a meaningful difference.

Because every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Can you give $10, $100, $1000 towards preventing an eviction for a family in our community?

Be part of the solution - one wishlist item at a time!

During Family Promise Week, we’re celebrating the many ways our Lawrence community comes together to help families find stability and the opportunity to thrive.

One simple way you can make a difference? Follow our Wednesday Wishlist posts! 🛒

Each week, we share essential items that help support families as they navigate housing transitions and move into stable housing. When you purchase or donate an item from our wishlist, you’re helping provide the everyday necessities that make a house feel like home.

In-kind donations also help offset the cost of purchasing these essentials, allowing us to direct more of our resources toward supporting families.

✨ Here’s how you can help:
💙 Watch for our Wednesday Wishlist posts.
💙 Choose an item you’re able to give
💙 Purchase or donate the requested item and help meet a family’s needs.

Every item makes a difference. Every contribution matters. And every act of generosity helps our community come together for families.

Thank you for helping Family Promise of Lawrence turn compassion into action!

A proclamation. A community. A commitment to families. ✨

As Mayor Finkeldei’s Family Promise Week proclamation recognizes, housing insecurity can create barriers to a child’s education, a parent’s employment, family health, and long-term stability.

Families facing housing challenges are our neighbors, our coworkers, and members of our community.

At Family Promise of Lawrence, we serve nearly 300 families each year, helping families navigate housing challenges and work toward stability.

During Family Promise Week, let’s bring this often-invisible crisis into the conversation — and remember that every family deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Thank you to everyone who makes this work possible…our volunteers, donors, partners, neighbors and staff.
