It has been brought to my attention that an anonymous letter has been circulated regarding my opponent, Mr. Williams, and his family. I want to make it absolutely clear that I had absolutely no knowledge of or involvement in the creation or distribution of this letter and I vehemently am against what has taken place.

I am asking anyone who received one of these letters to destroy it and refrain from sharing it or posting it on social media.

I strongly condemn bringing someone’s family into a political campaign. I find that deeply inappropriate and completely unacceptable. There aren’t strong enough words to express how this situation has made me feel.

Mr. Williams and I have our differences, and I am certainly not suggesting that candidates should be immune from criticism or scrutiny. However, there is a difference between holding a candidate accountable and unnecessarily involving their family in the political process.

Again, I am asking anyone who received one of these letters to destroy it and refrain from sharing it or posting it on social media. It serves no constructive purpose.

I have no desire to weigh in on the contents of this letter. My concern is simply that all people deserve a measure of privacy and protection from the ugliness that can sometimes accompany politics.

I have made some of the issues in this post vague on purpose. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, good. Let’s keep it that way.

May the Lord guide us all and remind us just how deeply our actions can and do affect those around us.

With just a few days left before Election Day, I wanted to put several of the many, many topics we've discussed throughout this campaign into one place for everyone to review before casting their ballots.

These are some of the ideas, priorities, and goals I've shared over the past several months. It's certainly not an exhaustive list, but I hope it gives everyone a clearer picture of my vision for Livingston County.

Some of these we can take care of pretty quickly, and others will take much longer than four years.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to ask questions, share concerns, offer ideas, and be part of these conversations. Every voice matters!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the meet the candidates and especially to the ones who organized this event.

Below is a video of my presentation in case you weren’t able to be there.

With just **ONE WEEK** left until Election Day, I want to take a moment to say **THANK YOU!**

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

✨This is not MY campaign. It's OUR campaign.✨

To every person who has knocked on doors, made phone calls, put up signs, shared posts, offered encouragement, or otherwise worked tirelessly behind the scenes, please know how much I APPRECIATE YOU!!

Some of you have been right there beside me every step of the way. Others have quietly supported this effort from afar. Every single one of you has made a difference, and I am so grateful.

But we're not finished yet! We have one week left, and **we cannot let up now.** Let's keep showing up, reaching out, and reminding people that their voices matter.

It's about the people of Livingston County and the future we want to build together.

Thank you for believing in me, for standing beside me, and most importantly, for believing in what we can accomplish together.

One more week. Let's finish strong!

I look forward to meeting y’all tomorrow!

Last night, I attended a community meeting hosted by General Matter, the company who is investing $1.5 billion to build the nation’s first U.S.-owned, privately developed uranium enrichment facility.

This is a significant development for our region, with the potential to bring substantial investment, good-paying jobs, and new economic opportunities to western Kentucky. Of course, with a project of this nature, safety, environmental protection, and responsible oversight must remain top priorities.

There's also an interesting connection to Livingston County's history. Our county was once known for its fluorspar mining industry, and fluorine chemistry plays an important role in the uranium enrichment process. While that doesn't necessarily mean our local fluorspar will be used, it's a reminder of how our region's industrial past connects to the industries shaping its future and the possible opportunities that lie ahead.

*So why did I feel it was important to attend a meeting about a project in another county?*

--1. Opportunity doesn't stop at the county line.--

This facility is just a short drive from Livingston County. That means potential employment opportunities for our residents, as well as opportunities to attract new families to our community.

I intend to stay informed and involved so that Livingston Countians know about employment opportunities as they become available. I'm also exploring ways we can better market our vacant homes, available land, and rural lifestyle to workers and families who may be relocating to the region.

We have a beautiful county, a wonderful community, and plenty to offer people looking for a place to put down roots. We need to do a better job of telling that story.

Drastic growth is coming to Paducah, and we need to get ready.

--2. Relationships matter, and Livingston County needs a seat at the table.--

For far too long, I believe Livingston County has operated too independently of our surrounding counties. We have sometimes treated our county lines like walls and as history has taught us, isolationism isn't a good strategy.

Throughout my career, I've worked to build strong, positive relationships with leaders across western Kentucky and beyond. Those relationships open doors, create opportunities, and give our county a voice in conversations that can shape our future.

We are living in an age of regional cooperation and economic development. It isn't enough to sit within our four corners and hope businesses come looking for us. We have to be willing to reach out, make connections, and give them a reason to consider Livingston County.

--3. We can learn from our neighbors without becoming them.--

Attending events like this gives me an opportunity to see what other communities are doing to encourage job creation and economic growth. I can learn what's working, what isn't, and what lessons we might bring home.

We don't want to become McCracken County or Marshall County. Livingston County has its own identity, its own strengths, and a way of life worth protecting. But that doesn't mean we can't learn from their successes or avoid repeating their mistakes.

______

Economic growth doesn't happen by sitting back and waiting for opportunity to knock.

It takes showing up. It takes asking questions, building relationships, doing your homework, and sometimes being the person who makes the first phone call.

I will continue showing up, staying informed, building those relationships, and advocating for Livingston County every chance I get. Not every opportunity will be right for us, and I will always believe in protecting the character and natural beauty of our county. But we should never miss a good opportunity simply because we weren't paying attention.

One promise I will always make to the people of Livingston County:

If serving this county ever becomes just another job, if I ever lose the butterflies that come with the privilege of serving my neighbors, or if I ever believe I’m no longer the right person to lead us forward, I promise I’ll have the humility to step aside.

Because public service should never be about holding on to a position. It should be about honoring the trust of the people who put you there.

This office belongs to the people, not the person holding it.

And the day I forget that is the day I no longer deserve to hold it.

We are just TWO WEEKS away from Election Day, and your voice matters now more than ever!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: This isn't my campaign. It's OUR campaign. It's about all of us working together for a better Livingston County.

So, I'm asking you to take a simple challenge this week. Reach out to just ONE person and tell them why you're voting for Teris Swanson on November 3rd.

Call a friend, text a neighbor, or strike up a conversation. It doesn't have to be a big speech. Just an honest conversation about why this election matters to you.

Because at the end of the day, no advertisement, yard sign, or social media post carries quite the same weight as a personal recommendation from someone you know and trust.
