Quaker Valley School District welcomes alumni, parents and friends to our page. We are a small district with a reputation for quality.

Quaker Valley School District is located along the Ohio River 12 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Residents have easy access to major highways and Pittsburgh International Airport. Our community is diverse, including various ethnic, racial and socioeconomic populations. Our stable population includes third and fourth generation Quaker Valley families, as well as those who have come to us not only from other states, but also from other countries. We embrace this diversity as an opportunity for cultural understanding and exchange. As a result, our schools mirror the cohesive, small-town atmosphere of the community they serve. School and class sizes allow for a personal approach to instruction. Quaker Valley recognizes that it takes a cumulative experience of excellence to produce students who will be internationally competitive. To that end, an innovative curriculum challenges all students to excel as independent thinkers and learners, and gives each the support and incentive to do so successfully. We are honored to have had all four of our schools selected for National Blue Ribbon Awards of Excellence.

The Quaker Valley School District extends its heartfelt condolences to the Cornell School District community and the family of Coach Ed Dawson following his untimely passing.

Coach Dawson’s dedication to student-athletes extended beyond Cornell, including his coaching tenure in our Quaker Valley football program. His contributions to both communities will be remembered with gratitude.

Our thoughts are with Coach Dawson’s family, friends, fellow coaches, student-athletes, and the entire Cornell community during this difficult time.

School bus safety is a shared responsibility. Bus drivers, students, families, and motorists each play an important role in getting students to and from school safely. By following the rules, staying aware, and showing patience, we can help ensure every student arrives safely every day.

Respect the ride.

Students help keep everyone safe by remaining seated while the bus is moving, keeping aisles clear, using quiet voices so the driver can focus, and treating others with kindness and respect.

Phones down. Eyes up. 👀

Whether you're driving, walking, or biking, stay alert around school buses and bus stops. Children can move quickly and unexpectedly, especially during loading and unloading.

Last week, third grade students from Edgeworth and Osborne had a chance to visit Old Economy, where they learned about life in the 1800s including visiting a general store, helping with chores, attending a one-room school, and experiencing houses before all of our modern conveniences!

This field trip set students up for success as they begin their new novel study of "Riding Freedom," which takes place in the mid-19th century.

A tremendous thank you to our HSAs at Edgeworth and Osborne who fund these trips through their annual Fun Run and Race for Education!

🎒 A safe ride starts before students step onto the bus.

Arrive at the bus stop at least five minutes early, wait in a safe location away from the road, and follow the bus driver's directions. Students should only cross the street when signaled by the driver.

It's National School Bus Safety Week! While many of our messages this week seem like common sense, they are shared as a reminder that school bus safety is the responsibility of all members of our community!

Red lights flashing? Stop. It's the law, and it saves lives. 🚨 When a school bus extends its stop arm and flashes red lights, drivers must stop to protect students getting on or off the bus. A few moments of patience can make all the difference.

It's World eSports Day! 🎮

eSports is about much more than playing video games. Through competition, students build teamwork, communication, strategic thinking, problem-solving, resilience, and digital citizenship. Who knew Super Smash Bros. aligned with our Portrait of a Learner so well?!

At Quaker Valley, we're proud to see our middle school eSports program continue to grow while expanding opportunities for even more students to get involved. We're especially grateful for our partnership with the Sewickley Public Library, which has helped create additional spaces and opportunities for students to connect, compete, and develop new skills through eSports. Don't believe us? Ask any of our eSports athletes or their families, and they'll be happy to tell you all about it!

Thank you to everyone who continues to support innovative learning experiences that help every student find a place to belong.

Osborne students laced up their sneakers and hit the course today for the school's annual Race for Education! Together our Osborne families raised funds to support some exciting additions to their school!

Thanks to the generosity of families and supporters, funds raised will help provide new indoor recess games and equipment, support upcoming field trips and assemblies, and work toward the ultimate prize … 📚 a BOOK VENDING MACHINE for Osborne Elementary! 📚

A huge thank-you to everyone who donated, volunteered, cheered, and helped make today's event a success! We love seeing our school community come together to make learning even more fun and engaging for our students!
