🩷 Today, We Wear PINK for a Purpose! 🎀🦅

October is more than just a month to wear pink. It’s a time to honor the warriors who have fought, celebrate the survivors, remember those we have lost, and stand beside those who continue to fight each and every day. 💕

Today, our Degan Eagles showed up in PINK from head to toe! 🩷 Our students, staff, and even parents came together to dance it out, spread love, and show our support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 💃🕺🎀

Because at Degan, we believe that NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE! 💪🩷

To the men and women fighting this battle, the survivors who inspire us, the families standing strong, and the loved ones cheering from the sidelines — our Eagles are sending you ALL the love, strength, and encouragement! 🫶

Today we danced for YOU. We wore pink for YOU. And we stand with YOU! 🩷🎀

🚩🏈 THE REFS CLEARED THE FIELD… AND THEN THIS HAPPENED! 😂🔥

Just another day at Degan Elementary, where there is NEVER a dull moment! 💚🦅

Today our teachers traded their teacher hats for referee stripes for an underground spirit day! 🏁 We were throwing yellow and red flags left and right, calling penalties, and having a little fun! 😂

Because let’s be real… teaching and refereeing have A LOT in common! 🤣🚩

But the REAL MVP of the day?! 🏆 Our very own Ms. Wilson! 👏🔥 She NEVER backs down from a challenge, and when the refs cleared the field, she understood the assignment! 💃🎶

🚩 NOW IT’S YOUR TURN! If teaching were a sport, what would YOU throw a penalty flag for?! 😂👇

We’ll go first… 15-yard penalty for asking “What are we doing?” right after the directions were given! 🤣

Pit stops, high revs, and zero chill. 🏎️💨 Welcome to Day 3 of Underground Spirit Week: The Degan Raceway Edition! 🏁

Today, the staff traded lesson plans for full racing suits, pit crew jumpsuits, and die-hard fan gear. Turns out, comparing a school day to making laps around the track makes way too much sense:

☕ Coffee breaks: 1.8-second pit stops
🚨 Hallway duty: Yellow caution flag on turn four
📝 Grading papers: The Daytona 500 endurance lap
🗣️ Classroom management: Drafting behind whoever has the loudest voice

We spent the day finding out our official NASCAR names, revving up our energy, and waving the checkered flag on another hilariously chaotic day. 🚩🏆

Underground Spirit Week: Day 2 – Chick-fil-A Edition! 🐔❤️

If you asked us to answer every single question today with “It’s my pleasure!”, we’d probably do it without missing a beat... though the kids were already staring enough as it was.

Day 2 of Underground Spirit Week had the Degan staff trading lesson plans for waffle fries and serving up big personality by the tray full. Here’s a quick peek into what everyone brought to the table today (and honestly, what half of us were secretly eating off of it):

The Drive-Thru Specialist: Had their entire day mapped out in 30-second increments and was handing out high-fives before the morning bell even stopped ringing.

The Sauce Hoarder: Showed up with five different dipping sauces in their bag because standard lunch needed a flavor upgrade.

The Training Manager: Unclogged a printer, handled three recess negotiations, and answered ten emails—all while maintaining full corporate employee character.

The Nugget Bandit: Claimed they were just doing “quality control” on everyone else’s snacks.

Between the nonstop laughs and the bewildered looks from the kids asking, “Wait, what are you guys doing tomorrow?!”, Day 2 was a total hit.

Who says kids get to have all the fun? 💛 Bananas, denim overalls, and a whole lot of confused looks—Day 1 of our underground spirit week was a huge success! At Degan Elementary, we take our jobs seriously, but we take making school memorable even more seriously. The side-eyes and relentless questioning from our students today did NOT disappoint. Yellow team signing off for now... but put your thinking caps on, because you are NOT ready for what we’ve got cooked up for tomorrow! 🤫🍌
