Halloween is almost here! As families across Fayette County get ready for an evening of trick-or-treating, a few simple precautions can help keep the night fun and safe for everyone.

🔦 Stay visible. Carry a flashlight or glow stick and consider adding reflective material to costumes and treat bags.

🚶🏾‍➡️Use sidewalks and crosswalks. Remind children to look both ways before crossing and avoid walking between parked cars.

🚙 Drivers, slow down and stay alert. Expect more children and families in neighborhoods, especially around dusk.

🍫 Check treats before eating. Parents, be sure to eliminate choking hazards for young children.

🎃 Enjoy the day, distraction-free. Whether you’re driving or walking, keep your attention on the people and traffic around you.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness, support survivors, and recognize the work being done throughout our community to help individuals and families affected by domestic violence.

At the Fayette County Attorney’s Office, we know that seeking help or navigating the justice system can feel overwhelming. Throughout this month, we join advocates, community partners and organizations across Fayette County in reminding survivors that support and resources are available, and that no one should have to navigate these circumstances alone.

We’ll continue recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month throughout October, including our annual participation in Wear Purple Day. 💜

Sample ballots available on our website at https://fayettekyclerk.gov/elections/sample-ballots/. Select your precinct from the list and you'll be able to view your sample ballot!

If you don't know the name of your precinct, head to https://vrsws.sos.ky.gov/VIC/Default.aspx and enter your information. The system will then provide you with the name of your precinct.
