Happy Halloween from all of us at CASA LCTX!

Halloween is a fun time for all, but any holiday can be scary for a child in a new place or has expereinced trauma. This halloween, be considerate of any child that seems too afraid to approach the door or for children that seem "too old" to "trick or treat". You never know what a child may have been exposed to.

The effects of domestic violence can last long after the violence ends. Supportive caregivers and trusted adults can help children build resilience, recognize their strengths and move toward healing.

Prevention isn't just about saying "no." It's about creating safe spaces where young people can ask questions, talk about difficult experiences and know they have trusted adults in their corner.

Ever thought about becoming a CASA but want to know more? Great news. We have info sessions each Monday and Wednesday at noon and 6pm. Email [email protected] to register.

If advocates are volunteers, then why do you need donations? Glad you asked. CASA LCTX provides extensive pre-service training (40 hours), background checks and finger printing (which range from $50-$100 per person), and administrative and support and leadership as CASAs help their kids navigate the foster care system.
