Calling all HCS High Schoolers! Looking to be part of a great internship team? Looking to gain real world experience in social media marketing? Better yet, looking for that special “get” on your college applications? Then look no further! Apply for our social media internship! This unique class offers you the opportunity to gain behind the scenes knowledge of how to publicize and engage in social media campaigns. In this internship you will:
Create weekly posts for ongoing and future events
Write one to two articles per month for our Newsletter
Work with a team of personable energetic students and staff
Meet one per week with your fellow interns and coordinator
Receive credit and real world experience!

Force of the Resistance Virtual Art Lesson - Happening Today May 18

May the fourth be with you Horizon students! In honor of Star Wars day, join us ONLINE for “the Force of the Resistance Art Lesson”. Just like the Rebel Alliance holds strong, our special tape technique will resist the paint, allowing us to make crisp, clean lines and a galactic masterpiece worthy of any Jedi’s wall!

Materials needed for Virtual Class

Paint (Washable Tempera Set or Acrylic Set)
Paper (use what you have: Watercolor Paper 9x 12, Cardstock, Construction paper)
Tape: Washi Tape or painter’s tape
Paint brushes
Water cups
Paper Towels

Summer Fun - Get Wet!

With triple digits just around the corner, there is no better way to beat the heat than with cool refreshing water! Be it poolside, splash pads, water parks, or river fun, stay cool and active this summer! Many cities offer summer passes for community pools. Splash pads abound and have a fantastic price point - nearly all are free. Sunsplash offers water slides and wave pools. And, of course, with the American River (Be safe!!) and state parks alongside its winding path, there is always a dip amongst the fish. We highly recommend you stop by your local library, they offer Library passes for all California State Parks! You’ll be able to stop by the river at any State Park location, for free with your pass. Checkouts are three weeks. Stay cool and active this summer, Horizon families!
