Newberry County Educators Showcase Instructional Innovation at SC EdTech Conference
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Educators from the School District of Newberry County attended the 2026 South Carolina Educational Technology Conference (SC EdTech) in Myrtle Beach, where nine district representatives presented sessions highlighting innovative instructional practices, technology integration, and professional learning. The district was represented by 14 educators participating in the statewide conference.
Hosted by the South Carolina Association for Educational Technology (SCAET), SC EdTech is the state's largest educational technology conference. Held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, the event brings together educators, administrators, technology professionals, and industry representatives to explore innovative strategies for enhancing teaching and learning. The conference features more than 200 professional development and training sessions and over 150 vendor exhibitors.
Among the district's representatives were several Digital Learning Leads (DLLs), teachers who serve as instructional technology leaders within their schools. These educators provide school-based support, share instructional resources, and help colleagues effectively integrate technology into classroom instruction.
"I am incredibly proud to see so many of our Digital Learning Leads not only attending SC EdTech but also presenting and sharing their expertise with educators from across the state," Bucky Ware, District Technology Integration Specialist said. "Our Digital Learning Leads play an important role in connecting professional learning with classroom practice. They bring back new ideas, strategies, and resources to share with their colleagues, extending the impact of these experiences throughout our schools and ultimately supporting teaching and learning for all students."
