Alzheimer's Arkansas We are an independent, nonprofit organization. Later, the group of volunteer leaders joined the national organization Alzheimer’s Association.

We offer educational and respite CARE programs, personalized support, printed and online resources, support groups (in-person and online), podcasts, and financial assistance to family caregivers in Arkansas. Alzheimer’s Arkansas Programs and Services was first incorporated in 1984 as the “Alzheimer’s Support Group of Central Arkansas,” with the purpose of providing information and support to persons with dementia and their caregivers. In 2002, our Board of Directors elected to disaffiliate from the national Alzheimer's Association to become Alzheimer’s Arkansas Programs and Services. Alzheimer’s Arkansas’ primary goal is taking care of Arkansas families who are affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. While our office is in Little Rock, we travel all across the state to reach families who need our information and support. We are always looking for ways to increase our outreach.

November is National Alzheimer's Awareness Month. For families walking the unpredictable path of dementia, having a steadfast community makes all the difference. Today, we want to share the journey of Theba Lolley.

When both of her parents were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Theba stepped into the role of caregiver, navigating the daily emotional, mental, and logistical realities that so many Arkansas families face. It was an exhausting, deeply personal journey filled with grief, love, and quiet resilience.

During that time, Alzheimer’s Arkansas was there to offer guidance, resources, and a reminder that she wasn’t walking the path alone.

A resource guide for caregivers in the state of Arkansas.
