🚧Colvin Drive Closure Announcement🚧
Colvin Drive will be closed at the railroad crossing located between Hwy 42 and Davis Lake Road in Locust Grove. This closure is set to begin on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 8:00 AM and is anticipated to last approximately three weeks, depending on weather conditions.
Alternate Routes
North of the closure: Harris Drive connects Highway 42 to Davis Lake Road.
South of the closure: Jackson Street intersects with Davis Lake Road, along with Bowden Street and Peeksville Road.
Motorists should be prepared for delays and consider using any alternate routes that are appropriate for their vehicle size during this period. These suggested alternate routes require common sense for safe navigation. This closure is necessary to facilitate construction work by Norfolk Southern Railroad, which includes the installation of a second railroad track.

The wet pattern continues with "rinse and repeat" showers and thunderstorms expanding across the area this afternoon and evening. A flood watch is in effect for much of north and central Georgia. Rain rates may exceed 2-3" per hour.
