Let’s talk about what’s often left out of the perinatal mental health conversation.

S*xual health, intimacy, and diverse family care are deeply connected to the emotional and mental well-being of birthing people, and yet they’re rarely centered in provider training.

This conference recording changes that.

S*x & Perinatal Mental Health is a comprehensive training for providers exploring the intersection of sexual health and perinatal care, because as the recording says: “There’s no perinatal mental health without sexual health.”

Here’s what’s included:

✅ 14 CE Credits

✅ Online recording — learn at your own pace

✅ $295

Whether you’re a therapist, OB, midwife, doula, or perinatal support provider, this training will deepen your practice and expand how you show up for your clients.

Two days. One room. A conversation the field has needed for a long time.

Whose Evidence? is a wrap and our hearts are so full.💕

We are deeply grateful to our speakers, whose wisdom and courage set the tone for everything. To our sponsors, Kaiser Permanente and SUPERNUS PHARMACEUTICAL Biogen, for making this possible. As well as Cedars-Sinai & LA Health Services for being community sponsors. The California Endowment for being such a beautiful and fitting home for this gathering. To our incredible staff for their tireless dedication behind the scenes. And to every attendee who chose to be in that room ✨ thank you for trusting us with your time, your presence, and your passion.

Now, the real work continues.

We encourage conference attendees and all who follow this work to imagine a new system of perinatal mental health care with us.

Who should be involved?
How do we talk to each other?
How do we coordinate care?
How do we engage in collaborative decision making with our patients?
How do we help patients advocate for themselves?

These are not rhetorical questions. They are our roadmap. 💚

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month. 🤍

One in four pregnancies ends in loss, yet the grief that follows is often carried in silence. No funeral. No bereavement leave. No casseroles at the door. Just an invisible wound that so many mothers, fathers, birthing parents, and families are expected to move on from far too soon.

This month, we’re honoring those losses by amplifying real voices and real stories.

Meridith. Alice. Amber. Three women who walked through some of the hardest moments a person can face, and chose to speak about it out loud. Their courage in sharing their stories is an act of service to every parent who has ever felt alone in their grief.

Because YOU are not alone.

Whether you’re navigating a miscarriage, a stillbirth, an infant loss, or the long and painful road of infertility, your grief is valid.

Your baby mattered.

And you deserve support.

We’ve also compiled an online training for providers so that the people meant to support you actually know how.

Swipe through to explore all 4 resources. 👉

💙 Save this post to come back to it, or share it with someone who needs to know they’re not alone.

This Saturday, Afro Angels launches in Inglewood, and there are still seats at the table. 🕊️

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. This gathering honors Black moms and their angels. It’s also a listening session: what helped after a loss, what was missing, and what would help.

What the room says will shape the Afro Angels pilot. In 2027, the pilot will give 15 Black mothers in Los Angeles County a complete Healing & Support Bundle at no cost.

📅 Saturday, October 24 | 11 AM to 2 PM
📍 HearthWood, 1029 N La Brea Ave, Inglewood
🥗 Light lunch included

The day includes:
✨ A grounding sound bath
✨ Table conversations and community story sharing
✨ A panel, “What Black Mothers Need After Loss,” with Lorna Leverette, Cassandra Carter-Williams, Jade Ross, Debbie Allen, and Keomi Barksdale

Who should come: birth workers, doulas, midwives, mental health and perinatal professionals, mothers and families who have experienced loss, and anyone who wants to stand with this community.

Share only what you choose. Nothing leaves the room with a name on it. 🤎

🚗 Know before you go: HearthWood has no parking lot. Parking is on the street and in residential areas only, so give yourself a few extra minutes.

Registration is free and takes one minute. Link in bio.

We are so proud to have Kaiser Permanente as a sponsor of our 2026 Conference, Whose Evidence? 💚

When two organizations share the same commitment to putting community first, something powerful happens. Kaiser Permanente’s dedication to whole-person care and health equity aligns deeply with the work we do at Maternal Mental Health NOW and together, we’re helping move the needle for perinatal mental health in the communities that need it most.

We’re grateful for this partnership, and we can’t wait to be in the room with all of you Monday. 🌿

Su***de is a leading cause of death in the perinatal period and yet, it’s one of the hardest conversations for providers to start.

MMHN’s training “My Baby Would Be Better Off Without Me” was created to change that. Led by Gabrielle Kaufman, MA, LPCC, PMH-C, this course equips healthcare and birth professionals with the clinical tools to recognize, assess, and respond to suicidal ideation in the perinatal period with confidence, not hesitation.

You’ll learn how to:

→ Identify how suicidal feelings show up during pregnancy and postpartum

→ Recognize risk factors, warning signs, and protective factors

→ Use the Columbia Su***de Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) in your practice

→ Understand why asking directly about su***de is essential — not harmful

→ Create safety plans and connect patients to the right resources

Asking the question can save a life. This training helps you ask it well.

Pediatric providers see new families at their most vulnerable and most don’t realize they’re also on the front lines of perinatal mental health.

MMHN’s Pediatrics training in screening and care in perinatal mental health is built specifically for pediatric providers who want to show up more fully for the families in their care.

You’ll learn:

→ Why universal perinatal mental health screening belongs in every pediatric practice

→ How perinatal mood and anxiety disorders affect infants, children, and the entire family system

→ How to integrate evidence-based screening tools into your existing workflow

→ Protocols for positive screens — from differential diagnosis to intervention

→ Psychopharmacology guidelines and medication safety for breastfeeding parents
This isn’t just continuing education.

It’s the training that helps you catch what others miss and connect families to care before a crisis hits.

Register now at the link in bio and add this to your practice. 💙
