💜 Faith, Community, and Awareness in Action! 💜

This Sunday, Jenesse Center was honored to join Holman United Methodist Church’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month program. We are grateful for opportunities to raise awareness, strengthen community partnerships, and support pathways to safety, healing, and hope.

We are proud to recognize Alice Brown of our Permanent Housing Department, who has been a dedicated member of the Jenesse Center family for more than 20 years. Throughout her years of service, Alice has supported countless families as they navigate the journey from crisis to stability and self-sufficiency. Her compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment truly reflect the heart of Jenesse Center’s mission.

Alice was joined at this meaningful event by Jenesse Center Board Member Dr. Sylvia Swilley, Chair of External Affairs, whose leadership, advocacy, and steadfast dedication continue to strengthen community partnerships and amplify the importance of supporting families.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to both Alice and Dr. Swilley for representing Jenesse Center and to Holman United Methodist Church for creating space for such an important conversation.

Honored to serve as Co-Lead alongside Barbara Kappos of the East Los Angeles Women’s Center for the Culturally Responsive Domestic Violence Network (CRDVN), supported by the Blue Shield of California Foundation.

Bringing together 20 community-based organizations from across California, CRDVN is a powerful collaborative network dedicated to advancing culturally responsive domestic violence prevention, strengthening survivor-centered services, and advocating for meaningful policy and systems change.

Through shared experiences, collective expertise, and a commitment to collaboration, we are identifying solutions, addressing barriers, and ensuring that the voices of underserved communities are heard and represented.

Real change happens when we come together , not just to discuss challenges, but to create solutions.
