🔥 TOWN OF WATERFORD – BURN BAN EXTENDED 🔥

Due to the current conditions and upcoming forecast, I am extending the burn ban for the Town of Waterford.

Conditions will be reevaluated daily to determine whether the ban can be lifted or needs to be extended.

Please continue to use caution and refrain from ALL outdoor burning until further notice. Even with cooler temperatures, dry conditions can create a significant risk of fire.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping keep our community and firefighters safe.

Waterford Fire Chief & Fire Warden

BURN BAN IN EFFECT

The Waterford Fire Department would like to inform residents that a town-wide burn ban is in effect immediately through the end of the day Sunday, October 25th.

Due to extremely dry conditions and an increased risk of wildfires, ALL outdoor burning is prohibited during this time.

Even a small fire can quickly spread out of control under the current conditions, putting homes, property, and lives at risk.

🔥 EXTREME FIRE DANGER – PLEASE DO NOT BURN! 🔥

The Waterford Fire Department is urging all residents to AVOID ALL OUTDOOR BURNING TODAY!

Dry vegetation and leaves, combined with windy conditions, can create an extremely dangerous situation. Even a small, controlled fire can quickly spread out of control, threatening homes, property, and lives.

Our firefighters are ready to respond when needed, but prevention is our greatest tool. Please do your part to protect your neighbors, our first responders, and our community.

Celebrating 41 Years of Service!

Today, October 16, 2026, marks the 41st anniversary of the Waterford Volunteer Fire Department!

For over four decades, dedicated volunteers have answered the call to serve and protect the residents and visitors of Waterford, Vermont. From structure fires and motor vehicle crashes to medical emergencies and community events, our members have remained committed to helping others when they need it most.

Throughout the past 41 years, our department has grown and evolved, but one thing has never changed: our commitment to serving our community.

We would like to recognize and thank all the past and present members who have dedicated countless hours to making this department what it is today. Their sacrifices, hard work, and commitment have helped build a foundation that continues to support our mission.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to our families, neighboring departments, and the Waterford community for their continued support. Without you, our mission would not be possible.

Waterford Fire Department is dedicated to continuing training that challenges our members and prepares us for worst-case scenarios.

Thank you to CALEX Ambulance for training with us and helping us continue to improve the quality of care we provide to our community. Working together and training alongside our EMS partners makes us better prepared to respond when our communities need us most.
