The Lumberton NC Lions Club was founded in 1945 to help the blind and visually handicapped in Lumberton, NC.

Lions Clubs International is the worlds largest service organization. Meetings are 7 pm, the first and third Thursday of the month.

Saturday, October 3, 2026, six members of the Lumberton Lions Club journeyed to the campus of Boys and Girls Homes of NC at Lake Waccamaw, NC to host a campus wide cookout for the residents and staff.

On their arrival at 4:00 the Lions and friends went to work preparing enough hamburgers, baked beans, chips, desserts, drinks and all the fixings for the 55 residents, house parents, and staff at Boys and Girls Homes.

A bit of rain did not upset the plans as burgers were cooked at the shelter as the residents and others moved the activities to the fellowship hall in the Rogers Chapel. Following the meal the group heard remarks from the residents and staff.
The total cost to the club was $190.
Money well spent as a grand time was had by all.
Lumberton Lion Kenny Cox serves as Boys and Girls Homes Committee chairman and coordinated the event.

Labor Day 2026 10 Lions and their helpers placed 196 US flags in the North Walnut Street neighborhood Highland Park of Lumberton (NC) during the Club's Neighborhood Flag Project. Club members were up and out at 6:30 putting flags in neighbor's yards.

July 4th 2026 Neighborhood Flag Project saw 8 Lumberton Lions and 6 FFA helpers place 195 Flags in the Highland Park neighborhood of Lumberton NC.

Lumberton NC Lions Club helped in raising the funds for this vehicle at Boys and Girls Homes of NC. Garrett D Robinson, David Cox, George Lawson , Michelle Cox . Over the past 11 months several Lions have been asking Lions Clubs all across the state for their help in getting the boys at Lions cottage on the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina campus a van of their own to do field trips and make appointments Today the van was delivered! Lions from across the state were able to raise over $44,000 and purchase this vehicle. Thank you to all who listened and stepped up to make this happen! Roar Lions, We Serve

Lumberton Lions members place 191 neighborhood flags on June 14 - Flag Day. Up early at 6:00 am to begin the project. Profits from the project aid the visually impaired persons (VIPs) of Lumberton and North Carolina.
