Back to school tomorrow! Our MPS educators are already at work, and last week we got a chance to meet the new ones! Thank you to MPS and The Bridge: A School/Community Partnership for letting us share our grant opportunities.

The Bridge was thrilled to help organize and to participate in the Community Partners Fair for new MPS educators on Tuesday - a fantastic addition to the new teacher professional development days. Thanks to Melanie Acevedo, who came up with the event, for keeping community building front and center. Thanks to all the fantastic organizations that joined, who regularly share their time and expertise with the staff and students of the Melrose Public Schools. And thanks to the new teachers who stopped by to say hi; we had some good conversations about how volunteers can support their work.

2026-27 is off to a great start!!

Our LAST nominee post! This one is for all of you with your first kiddo heading to K - only a tiny sampling of the amazing kindergarten teachers at MPS. I hope you'll look at these, and look back at the other nominees, and feel excited. We're very lucky. ❤️

Today's post is unique - these kind words come from students, and show the impact of educators from kindergarten to high school. This includes an extra special tribute to the lasting impact of beloved late MHS teacher Mr. Carbonneau.
