Dear friends, https://gofund.me/5fd125ef
I am reaching out to ask for your help for Voluntários da Esperança, a private nursing home in Igarapé, Minas Gerais, Brazil, that shelters dozens of elderly, homeless, and disabled people who have no family and are truly destitute. Their biggest expense is the building rent, which has now accumulated to nearly R$60,000 (about US$11,000), after the loss of their main monthly donor—an elderly lady who recently passed away.
Despite all their efforts, the shelter’s donations are not enough to cover essential costs like food, medicine, staff salaries, and especially the rent. The coordinator, Cátia Cilene, has found a smaller home for them to move into, but they must first pay off this overwhelming debt or risk all the vulnerable people they care for being left on the streets.
Our goal is to raise funds here in the USA to help cover their past rent debt and support the shelter so they can continue providing a safe place for these poor and abandoned brothers and sisters. Every little bit helps and will be sent directly to their bank in Brazil.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this post to help us reach more kind hearts. Together, we can give hope to those who need it most.
Thank you and God bless you all,
Angy Mia (InnerLight)

Thank you all who came yesterday. We had a blast and there were many great items for all.
I was able to get full luggage with T-shirts, bermudas, hats and shoes for the project "Loving 💕 Bags for the unsheltered". I think I got around 150 items. I was up until 2:30am packing everything, but happy to leave all organized.
The "FL Breast Cancer Foundation" is coming here on Wednesday morning to pick it up. I'll leave all the donations on my inside porch. I'll take a picture of all that we got, then send to you all. God bless you for your charitable hearts. Thanks. Angy💕
Loving Bags for Homeless project started in 2014, in New York City. During a cold winter night, I decided to buy french fries in MacDonalds, when a very handsome young man gave me a coupon for large fries, then left. I was surprised with the coinscidence, and I got distracted reading the rules, when I heard someone screaming: -Get out of here! When I looked, I realized that the handsome young man was dressed in rags, trying to give his coupons to other people. I could not believe it, he was homeless! He was pushed out of the line, but I decided to buy him food. When I got my fries and his food, I couldn't find him anywhere. Upset, I left the store, but for my luck he was seating on floor right outside. I told him that I was very thankful for his sweet gesture, so I decided to give him a little thing back. He smiled to me with that angel face, then something changed inside of me forever. At that moment, I decided to create a simple way to deliver a bag with few gifts inside of it for homeless. I was blessed to have many friends that decided to help me, so this simple, but loving project was born.
Few months ago, I moved to Miami, but I’m happy to say that this is the 4th year of this project happening in NYC, and the 1st year of it happening in Miami, FL. I was extremely surprised by the imense amount of love, donations, volunteers that embraced this project here. I was lucky enough to meet a similar soul that deeply enjoys helping others, she has been always involved in many different charitable causes, her house is actually the head court of any collection that we start. This dear sister to my heart is called “Carla Marques”, she alone was able to collect donations with her neighbors, gym, work, school and many different groups in the Broward area to make 180 of the total of our bags.
We had people from many different backgrounds and religions, all united in love and charity. We were able to pack, in less than two hours, 477 bags with 15 items each, from food, beverages, hygine items, clothes, information on how to get help to a final Loving Message of hope! We delivered all the bags on the same afternoon and evening of December 17th, 2017 in different locations of Miami and Fort Laurderdale. This project was just possible, because of people like you, that love and care for others. Be the light that guides the ones that can’t see yet!
God bless you, Angy
Since I moved to Miami, I was looking for another group of people that would help me with some charitable projects. Not easy when you just moved to a new city, but God guides us always. Few days later, a friend mentioned the name of Tony, a man who works with homeless for over 20 years. I called him, then we met during his “weekly Thursday lunch” for the homeless. He was extremely resourceful and encouraging towards my Loving Bags Project. Then he mentioned his most recent project would be a “Special Christmas Dinner” for the homeless at Camillus House Shelter, in Downtown. Him, his family and volunteers were raising funds to buy a special menu and gifts to be placed in backpacks. He said that they were planning on feeding and gifting 500 homeless! I was shocked... How to get money to feed such a huge number of people, not even talking about gifts. He was not concerned, he said that God will help us to make it happen. He was so convincing that I relaxed and joined his project immediately. From one moment to another, I started connecting with people from everywhere. I explained these projects and soon the amount of volunteers started to raise significantly. People have big and generous hearts, so they started helping me with donations for both projects at the same time!
On Thursday, December 14th, 2017, at 5pm, we all got together at Camillus House to participate of this amazing yearly event. Our Volunteers of Love were all excited with the beautiful possibility of bringing some light and love to our brothers and sisters who are going through difficult times. Tony's friends were singing and playing beautiful Christmas carols, then other volunteers were distributing the backpacks full of great donations. Finally, Santa Claus was hugging and taking pictures with all of them, including some children. We all felt the love that was surrounding the environment. Be good and you will receive good back.
Few weeks prior to the Loving Bags event, we had already received a huge amount of donations. I knew that we were going to make at least 300 bags for the homeless, so it was going to be extremely successful. Then, another friend, who is a physical therapist and that works with elderly from very simple backgrounds, told us the situation of some of them. She showed some pictures of them without shoes or without winter clothes. We were very touched by their situation, then we decided that we could help her, creating the Loving Bags for the Elderly! We started another campaign, this time asking for gently used or new shoes and sweat shirts, so we could ADD to the Loving Bags. The donations of shoes and winter items started coming from everywhere!
On the same day that we packed the Loving Bags for the Homeless, December 17th, we also packed special bags for our elderly brothers and sisters, creating the Loving Bags for the Elderly! We donated 50 bags with beautiful items inside of hygiene, including large body lotions, shampoos, conditioners, lip balms, sun blocks, socks, shoes and sweaters.
