It was a beautiful morning in Kiihkayonki today as we commemorated the 200th anniversary of the 1826 Treaty of Missisinewa. The Miami Nation, on this occasion, has designated the Akima Pinšiwa Awiiiki (Chief Richardville Treaty House) as a historic site on the Miami Nation Register of Historic Sites. The house was placed on the US National Register of Historic Landmarks in 1997.

We are looking forward to attending this exciting event in Kiihkayonki later this summer!

We’re excited to announce that the Myaamia Heritage Foundation has received a grant from the Indiana Arts Commission to support the Myaamia Cultural Festival on August 29!

This funding will help support Myaamia artist demonstrations at the festival, including fingerweaving. Festival attendees will have the opportunity to learn about this art form and create their own fingerwoven keychain!

Thank you for supporting Myaamia arts revitalization and helping us share Myaamia culture with the community. We look forward to seeing everyone at the festival!
