Happy Halloween! 🎃

At this week’s camp, we had a Halloween party and barbecue. Campers played a game where they all added their own drawings to the same papers, creating a funny story for everyone to enjoy. They also dressed in costumes and participated in Halloween trivia.

Ray, a local community member and chef, stopped by to carve a pumpkin and share recipes for pumpkins and pumpkin seeds.

It was a spooky fun time for all! 👻

At a recent camp, we were thrilled to celebrate Carol Stillwell’s 80th birthday! Carol is a beloved philanthropist who generously supports so many local nonprofits, including the NJBCA. ❤️

Campers were so excited to give Carol some treats and decorations and show her just how much we appreciate her! They also gave her a sneak peek at the art they’ve been making, which will be showcased at our upcoming Art from the Heart exhibit. 🥳

After Carol left, campers finished their exotic bird projects and enjoyed a Movement, Balance & Rhythm class with Jill Stryker from Bayshore Family Pharmacy. 🥰

Thank you to Lunch Break for also donating some delicious fruits and vegetables for our campers to enjoy! 🍎🥒

Our campers are getting ready for our upcoming Art from the Heart Exhibit! 🤩

At one of our recent camps, they used a variety of materials to create exotic birds. Thank you to Suzanne Anderson for facilitating this fun art project! 🦜

At that same camp, Kate Hall performed a sound bath music program, which created a relaxing environment for all. ✨

We also enjoyed some delicious cake to celebrate the first anniversary of Camp Happiness reopening after a brief hiatus. 🎂

Several board members were honored to accept the proclamation and talk about the NJBCA’s important mission.

Supporting individuals with blindness and vision loss is at the core of our foundation, and we are proud to provide a place that fosters independence and inclusivity for them.
