We wrapped up Fire Prevention Week yesterday morning with the 3 Year & 4 Year Pre-School Classes from St. James Catholic! We had a great time with this group. They were very responsive and had plenty of questions for our Firefighters. Chief Kurt Pellmann led the discussion while Firefighter Toby Gomric demonstrated our turnout gear & SCBA.

Captain Alex Pellmann & Firefighters Roger Colbert, Devin Godier, Chad LaBruyere & Dennis Feazel did truck presentations and helped the kids demonstrate their skills on the end of the hose line.

We had an amazing time during Fire Prevention Week and hope all the kids did too!

Remember to discuss with your children an exit strategy from your house and a safe meeting space in case anything were ever to happen.

Yesterday morning, we had the privilege of talking Fire Safety with the Preschoolers at Millstadt Primary Center. Our Fire Prevention Class was led by Firefighters Nate Noerper, Tony Gomric, Steve Skaer, Toby Gomric, & Chad LaBruyere.

We were able to show the kids a firefighter donned in our turnout gear & SCBA. We feel this is important because while we could look scary, it’s important for our children to know we are there to help in the time of need.

We also talked fire safety, exit plans, and most importantly showed them our trucks and had a chance to spray the hose.

Thanks for coming up and we look forward to see the kids from St. James tomorrow!

The last two Monday Nights were spent testing hose on 3910. All 1-3/4” handlines, 2-1/2” handlines, & 2-1/2” supply hose passed testing.

This concludes all of our hose testing requirements for 2026.

It’s Fire Prevention Week.

Today we welcomed the Zion Pre School to the Fire House.

Chief Kurt Pellmann & Firefighter Tony Gomric spent time talking about Fire Safety, Fire Trucks, and all our equipment.

Most importantly, we got a truck out and let the kids have their chance at the end of the hose.

It’s important to replace your batteries in your smoke detectors & CO detectors this month. Additionally, for those of us with young kids, it’s a great time to sit down and have a talk about ways to get out of your house and discuss a safe meeting area if your house were to catch fire.

We are excited to see the kiddos from Millstadt Primary Center & St. James the rest of the week.

This weekend we participated in the Millstadt Ambulance Service First Annual Red vs. Blue Softball Game. It was really awesome to see our Community connect and come together to enjoy some softball & togetherness from our towns First Responders.

We were excited to claim our 18-4 victory over the Millstadt PD. That means y’all have traffic duty on all 10-50’s for the next calendar year!

In all honestly, we were super excited to help support our EMS and to all have a clean bill of health after Saturday’s shenanigans. I guess we’ll have to stay in shape for next year to defend our title belt!

Come on out to ballpark tomorrow and watch us try not to injure ourselves!! We take on Our Boys in Blue (Millstadt Police Department) & whatever Ringers they called to fill out their roster!

We took some swings after the MCS Regional Game last night and are excited to report we all made it to work this morning!! Can't wait to have some fun tomorrow, support our EMS, & come together for some great Community camaraderie.
