Public posts. Private texts. Permanent consequences. To close out National Bullying/Cyberbullying Awareness Month, NCDA is spotlighting our S.T.O.P. Then Send program. DA Donnelly created the initiative in 2010 to help students handle tough digital issues like sexting, cyberbullying, and online exploitation. Sharing sensitive photos or sending hurtful messages can have serious, long-term consequences.

Today, the program has grown to reach thousands of students, parents, and teachers across all grade levels every year. It is NCDA’s most-requested educational program.

So before you post, STOP and think about the impact…then send. Book a presentation for your school: [email protected].

DA Donnelly had the privilege of being invited to speak to students at Great Neck South High School today! More than 100 students filled the room to hear about her life and career becoming Nassau County’s chief law enforcement officer. It’s always rewarding to see so many young people interested in pursuing law and public service. Thank you Great Neck South High School for the warm welcome and thoughtful questions! 📚 ✏️

HELP NEEDED: NCPD rescued this dog near the intersection of Incinerator Rd & Bay Blvd in the Inwood area. The dog was found in a crate, with no food or water, tethered to a fence by a rope around his neck. He is currently being treated for various injuries from neglect and being left out in the elements over the course of several days. NCDA’s Animal Crimes Unit is investigating.

Nassau County SPCA is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. If you recognize this dog or have any information regarding this case, email [email protected] or call 516-THE-SPCA (516-843-7722).

September is National Recovery Month, making this month’s Nassau County He**in Prevention Task Force meeting especially powerful. NCDA joined fellow task force members to collaborate on prevention efforts in our community and heard a personal story of recovery from a member of the Family & Children’s Association. Her journey, like so many others in recovery, serves as a reminder of why this work matters.

If you or someone you know needs support, help is available. Visit heroinprevention.com for a list of resources in Nassau County.

DA Donnelly, Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, and Homeland Security Investigations New York Assistant Special Agent in Charge Gerald Handley announced that a Queens man was indicted as a major trafficker in a large-scale narcotics conspiracy.

Jemmal Bryan, his sister, and 3 other co-conspirators allegedly worked together to sell fentanyl, co***ne, and Tranq across Nassau County.

The yearlong joint investigation began last summer when police found uniquely stamped glassine envelopes containing narcotics at the scenes of a fatal overdose in June 2025 and a non-fatal overdose in July 2025.

A search warrant executed at defendant Bryan’s home this July recovered more than half a million fatal doses of fentanyl. That’s half a million lives that could have ended in an instant, driven purely by greed, if law enforcement had not stepped in. NCDA thanks our law enforcement partners for their extensive work in this complex operation.
