On Sunday, October 25, 2026, Monon Park Board President Diane Tribbett, Vice President Linda Melton, Secretary Esther Hardy, and board member Linda Griffin gathered at Monon Park for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the installation of a new basketball hoop and park amenities.

On behalf of the Town of Monon, we extend our sincere gratitude to Rose Acre Farms for their prompt response and generous donation, which made the basketball court project possible. The town also expresses deep appreciation to Fred Mancilla for fabricating and donating new park benches in loving memory of his family members. The weekend ceremony was held to formally honor these valuable contributions to the local community.

Additionally, the Park Board recognized Roger Young, expressing deep appreciation for his hard work and dedication in overseeing the installation during his tenure as Street Commissioner.
