🎃 The Pumpkin Wars Have Come to an End! 🎃

Well, Montgomery County, we gave it our best shot! Unfortunately, we came up a little short this year, but we certainly didn't come up short when it came to support from our community!

We want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who voted for us, shared our pictures, and helped spread the word. We know there were a lot of pumpkins showing up on everyone's Facebook feeds over the last several days, and we genuinely appreciate everyone who took the time to support our team.

Our dispatchers put a great deal of thought, creativity, and effort into their pumpkins, and I couldn't be prouder of the work they submitted. These men and women work incredibly hard serving Montgomery County, and it meant a great deal to see so many people take an interest in something they worked hard to create.

To our dispatchers, thank you for your efforts and for representing Montgomery County Joint Communications so well. I hope you know how proud we are of you!

We also want to congratulate Warren County Emergency Communications Center on their victory! A special thank you to Lincoln County 911 - Troy Mo for organizing the competition and to both Lincoln County 911 - Troy Mo and Pike County MO 911 for participating alongside us. We have a great deal of respect for the men and women serving in our neighboring communications centers, and we appreciate the opportunity to recognize their teams as well.

Most importantly, to everyone who supported us, THANK YOU! Whether you voted, shared a post, or simply offered a kind word of encouragement, your support did not go unnoticed.

We may not have brought home the win, but we have a great team of dispatchers and a community that continues to support them. For that, we are incredibly grateful!

Thank you, Montgomery County, for standing behind our team! 🎃

The partnership we shared with Chief Beasley was something truly special.

He had a laid-back, caring personality and a sense of humor that made every interaction feel genuine. More than anything, he made it feel like family. He never forgot about the people behind the radio. He understood that dispatch isn’t always able to step away, even for something as simple as running out for a fountain soda.

Because of that, he would routinely stop by with drinks or a snack, just to make sure our team was taken care of. He never stayed long, but he always made an impact. It was common to hear him say, “You know I love my peps,” as he came through the door.

He always had that big smile and a one-of-a-kind laugh that you couldn’t miss. And for those of us who worked the radio with him, the way he would go on duty is something we’ll never forget. “3fiddy1111… 10-41.” That’s etched in our minds forever.

Chief Beasley will be deeply missed, but he will never be forgotten.

Today our team at Montgomery County Joint Communications is truly feeling the support from our community and partners.

The County Clerk’s Office surprised us with Domino’s pizza, and Omnigo Public Safety Software sent over cookies for the team.

We are grateful for the continued support and proud to serve this community.

Today marks the beginning of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

Behind every call for help is a trained professional who answers without hesitation. In a rural community where resources are often spread out, our telecommunicators play a critical role in ensuring the right help is sent quickly and efficiently.

We are proud of the professionals who serve behind the headset.
