WE are listening!

Yesterday, Jefferson Elementary celebrated AAC awareness. During their typical morning announcements, 1st grader Nolan McCracken used his AAC device to address the entire school!

Nolan shared how AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) helps him express his thoughts, answer questions in class, and connect with friends.

We are so proud of Nolan for sharing his voice and reminding us all how simple acts—like patience, a smile and a friendly "hello"—help build a kind, inclusive school community!

Celebrating Every Voice at Jefferson Elementary Center!

💬 Every voice matters, and today we celebrated them all! 💬

In honor of AAC Awareness Month this October, Jefferson Elementary Center hosted a special collaborative event for students in Mrs. Chorba's and Miss Henzes' classes!

Organized by speech & occupational therapy departments, special education teachers Miss Henzes,and Mrs. Chorba, the day was packed with movement, creativity, and real connection. Students rotated through stations filled with gross and fine motor play, crafts and engaging, hands on sensory activities—all while utilizing their speech devices and alternative communication methods to engage with their classmates, teachers and friends.

Watching our students connect, share, and cheer each other on was the best part.

Thank you to our dedicated team for creating such a welcoming, inclusive space. We are so grateful to be part of a community that celebrates every voice!

Middle School Gifted Students showcased their love of learning at the Scranton Prep Young Scholars Competition

Several North Pocono Middle School gifted students attended Scranton Prep Young Scholars Competition on Saturday October 24, 2025.

Mrs. Fromert accompanied two teams of students to the event. The teams faced challenging academic questions and demonstrated great teamwork and critical thinking skills.

The sixth grade team consisted of Abigail Berry, Kaylee Sileo, Nickolas De-Santo -Piller and MiaGrace Weaver

The eight grade team consisted of John Berry, Autumn Hollister, Alivia Strauser and Alex Zimmerman.

Congratulations to all of the students who represented North Pocono School District!

Their hard work, dedication and willingness to take on new challenges made the school community proud!

🍁🎃 Jefferson Elementary’s Food Drive 🎃🍁

The tradition of giving through an annual scarecrow contest is well underway at Jefferson Elementary.

This PTA sponsored event asks each class to create a scarecrow and vote for their favorite by donating non-perishable food items. Each item is a vote.

The winning scarecrow's class gets a special prize from the PTA, but the real winners are the North Pocono families who utilize our local food pantry.

Thank you to everyone who has participated! The winner will be announced on 10/30/26.

NPI Picture Retake

North Pocono Intermediate will have its Picture Makeup/Retake day on Tuesday November 3.

For students who already placed an order and would like a retake: Please return your photo package to the photographer, there is no need to place a new order. They will automatically fulfill your original package using the new photo.

For new students or absent students: a proof card will be sent home after retake day with instructions on how to view photos and place an order.
