🎃🚔 A Spooktacular Success in the City of Mount Vernon!👻

The Mount Vernon Police Department’s annual Trunk or Treat brought the community together for an evening filled with Halloween fun, creativity, and plenty of treats!

Families, children, and residents from across the city came out to enjoy the festive atmosphere, show off their creative costumes, and make lasting memories. From the decorated trunks to the smiles and laughter, the evening was a wonderful reminder of the importance of bringing our community together.

A special thank you to the Mount Vernon Police Department and everyone who helped make this year’s Trunk or Treat a memorable celebration for our residents!

A Celebration of Community, History & Preservation! 🇺🇸

The City of Mount Vernon proudly celebrated the rededication of Union Arms President’s Park, located on 5th Street between Union Lane and Union Avenue, bringing together community members and city leaders to recognize the importance of preserving and enhancing our shared spaces.

Featuring Congressman George Latimer, this special ceremony honored the dedicated efforts of the Mount Vernon Department of Public Works and the community in maintaining and revitalizing a space that holds meaning for our neighborhood.

As we approach the 250th anniversary of America’s birth, we are reminded of the importance of honoring our history, celebrating the people who make our community special, and investing in the spaces we share.

Together, we continue to preserve our past while building a brighter future for generations to come! ❤️🌳

🚒 A $6.3 MILLION INVESTMENT IN MOUNT VERNON’S PUBLIC SAFETY! 👏

Today marks a significant milestone for the City of Mount Vernon as we celebrate a $6.3 million state investment to fully renovate and reopen Fire Station #4, located at 11 Oak Street, which has remained closed since 2021 due to unsafe conditions.

This critical investment represents a major step forward in strengthening our city’s emergency response capabilities, improving public safety, and ensuring our firefighters have a safe, modern facility to serve our community. Located in one of Mount Vernon’s most densely populated neighborhoods, the reopening of this station will be an important addition to our city’s emergency response infrastructure.

Our firefighters put their lives on the line every day to protect our residents. They deserve a safe environment to work, prepare, and return to after every call. Investing in their safety is an investment in the safety and well-being of our entire community. 🚒❤️

We extend our sincere gratitude to Governor Kathy Hochul, Senator Jamaal Bailey, Congressman George Latimer, Assemblymember Gary Pretlow, Fire Commissioner Kevin Holt, our Comptroller, the City Council, our dedicated firefighters, and the community advocates whose support helped make this important milestone possible.

🎀💗 CANCER AWARENESS: UNITED IN HOPE, LOVE & SUPPORT! 💗🎀�

Today was a meaningful day of awareness, education, and celebration at our Cancer Awareness Day Program! Our Mount Vernon seniors came together to enjoy breakfast, share a few dances, celebrate life, and connect with valuable information about cancer prevention, early detection, and the resources and services available to those impacted by cancer. 🌸🎗️�

Beyond the celebration, today served as a powerful reminder of the importance of staying informed, supporting one another, and ensuring our community has access to the knowledge and resources needed to make informed decisions about their health.

As we recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we stand in solidarity with survivors, honor the memory of those we have lost, and lift up everyone currently facing a cancer diagnosis, along with their loved ones. Every story matters, every life is precious, and every act of support makes a difference. 💕🙏�

Together, we will continue spreading awareness, encouraging early detection, and building a community rooted in compassion, strength, and hope. We stand side by side with our community today and every day. 🎀💗�

Please be advised that Mount Vernon City Hall will be closed for regular business on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, in observance of Election Day. However, the building will remain open for voting.

🏛️ City Hall will reopen for regular business on Wednesday, November 4, at 8:30 AM.

🚗 Please also note that alternate-side street parking will be suspended on Tuesday, November 3.
