What a refreshing fall afternoon with our Greater Muscatine Chamber Ambassadors! 🍂🍁
We kicked things off with a ribbon cutting at the beautiful new Lumber Lofts Apartments! What an incredible addition to our community, offering wonderful housing options with some pretty spectacular views!
Then it was time to hit the road for our Chamber visits! And let me tell you, Muscatine has some pretty amazing people working behind the scenes!
💙 First stop: Hy-Vee Drugtown!
We were greeted by the wonderful Sarah Honts, who is celebrating 28 YEARS of service! 👏 Talk about dedication! We also learned that the store earned Store of the Quarter for the South Region, achieving ALL FOUR of its goals! 4/4! Now THAT deserves some recognition!
🥃 Next up: Hy-Vee W**e & Spirits!
Oh, Shelby! What a fun-loving woman who knows her stuff! She showed us some incredible deals, including a Hy-Vee-exclusive barrel-pick wh***ey! She even introduced a few of our Ambassadors to pull tabs! 😂
Did you know Shelby also delivers to local bars and restaurants throughout Muscatine? Talk about top-notch customer service and supporting our local businesses!
🛒 Then we headed to Fareway!
We caught up with Ben, who has practically grown up working there! We got the inside scoop on their store remodel and learned about their expanded ready-to-eat options, now conveniently located in one central area!
And can we appreciate that Fareway STILL carries your groceries to your car?! That old-school customer service never goes out of style!

We wrapped up our afternoon with one of our very own hometown heroes, Phil!
One thing that absolutely blew me away throughout our visits was the longevity of the employees at these stores. Years and YEARS of dedication to serving our community. That says so much about the people and businesses we have right here in Muscatine!
We also learned about Hy-Vee’s incredible upcoming Veterans Day breakfast, where they honor veterans, active service members, and their spouses with a meal. More than 600 people visit the store for this special tradition! How awesome is THAT?! 🇺🇸
By the end of the afternoon, we were all pretty hungry and thirsty! 😂 Every single stop had amazing deals, unique offerings, and something that made us want to come back for more!
But here’s what I love most about these Chamber visits: It’s not just about the businesses. It’s about the PEOPLE. The employees who have dedicated decades to their careers, the managers who take pride in their stores, and the teams who show up every day to serve our community.
THAT is what makes Muscatine so special. ❤️
