There are approximately 847 things to remember between now and the end of the year. 🀣

So I put some of the easy-to-forget ones in one place.
The Fall-to-Festive Guide is packed with smart things to think about as you travel, host, shop, decorate, make big purchases and wrap up the year.

And yes, because we're right in the middle of AEP, there's a little Medicare "don't forget this" in there too. πŸ˜‰

Think of it less like an insurance checklist and more like the friend who says:

"Oh! Before you do that, did you think about this?"

Let's play Medicare Trick or Truth. πŸŽƒ

Three statements. One is the trick.

A. Medicare plans can make changes from one year to the next.

B. If your prescription is covered by your plan, you'll pay the same amount no matter which pharmacy you use.

C. A change in your own health or prescriptions can be worth considering when you review your coverage.

Which one's the trick? πŸ‘€

Drop A, B or C in the comments before you keep reading.

The answer is B. πŸ‘»

Depending on your Medicare drug coverage, what you pay for a covered prescription can vary based on the pharmacy you use.

How'd you do?

And if this one caught you, that's exactly why it's worth looking a little closer during AEP.

Have a Medicare question of your own? Send it my way.

What I don't care about during your Medicare review:

1. That you don't understand Medicare.
That's quite literally why I have a job. You don't need to study first.

2. That your paperwork is a mess.
Bring the pile. We'll figure it out. 🀣

3. That you can't pronounce the name of one of your prescriptions.
Neither can half the country.
Just bring the bottle.

4. What plan your neighbor has.
I'm sure Bob loves it. We're not reviewing Bob's healthcare.

5. That you have a million questions.
Please ask them. I'd much rather you ask than leave confused.

6. That you changed your mind about something you told me last year.
Life changes. So do priorities.

7. That you forgot to mention something until halfway through our conversation.
"Oh! I forgot to tell you…" is practically part of the process.

8. That you don't know which Medicare details matter.
You tell me about your doctors, prescriptions, healthcare and life. I'll know what questions to ask.

9. That you need me to explain something again.
And again. Seriously.

10. That you're overwhelmed.
You don't have to sort through all of this by yourself.

What DO I care about?

That when we're finished, you understand your options and feel comfortable with the decision you're making.

Need someone in your corner this AEP? Send me a message.

That's what I'm here for!

Medicare plans can look pretty convincing when they're all dressed up. πŸŽƒ

An ad catches your attention. A commercial sounds great. Someone tells you what they chose.

But none of those things tell you whether a plan fits your life.

That's where your doctors, prescriptions, healthcare needs, costs and priorities come in.

So during AEP, don't stop at what caught your attention first.

Take a look at what's underneath the costume. πŸ‘€

Not sure what you should be looking at? Send me a message and let's talk through it.

Let's play a quick round of Medicare "What If?" πŸ‘€

Which of these would make you stop and ask questions about your coverage?

A. Your doctor refers you to a new specialist.

B. You start spending a few months each year in another state.

C. You get a new prescription you'll take regularly.

D. All of the above.

If you picked D, you get the imaginary gold star. ⭐ 🀣

These are exactly the kinds of changes worth bringing up during a Medicare review.

Because sometimes the important question isn't only,
"Did my plan change?"

It's "What if my life did?"

And that's a conversation I'm always happy to have.

If your fall checklist includes:

β˜€οΈ Head south
🧳 Stay for a few months
❄️ Return when winter gets the hint…

Add one more thing to the list.

Check how your Medicare coverage works while you're away.

Depending on your coverage, things like provider networks, routine care and prescription access can work differently when you're away from home.

And if your winter routine is changing this year, that's especially worth mentioning during your Medicare review.

Your coverage doesn't stay home just because you don't. πŸ˜‰

Heading somewhere warmer this winter? Make sure Medicare is part of the packing conversation!

Sometimes the most important part of a Medicare review isn't on the paperwork.

It's something you mention in passing.

πŸ’¬ "We're spending more time in Florida next year."
πŸ’¬ "My doctor referred me to a new specialist."
πŸ’¬ "They changed one of my prescriptions."
πŸ’¬ "We might be moving closer to the kids."

Those little details immediately get my attention. πŸ‘€

Because they tell me something about what your healthcare may actually look like next year.

So when we talk, don't worry about knowing what's "Medicare important."

Tell me what's changing in your life.

I'll know what questions to ask from there.

You checked your doctor for next year. βœ”οΈ

Good start!

But don't stop there.

Depending on your Medicare coverage and the care you use, you may also want to check:

πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ Specialists you see regularly
πŸ₯ Hospitals or facilities you prefer
πŸͺ Your pharmacy

Because "my doctor takes it" doesn't necessarily answer every question about how your coverage will work for you next year.

Think about the whole team involved in your healthcare.

That's the list I want us looking at.

Need help figuring out what you should check?

Send me a message!

Your unofficial AEP appointment starter pack:

πŸ“„ Your Medicare Annual Notice of Changes (ANOC)
πŸ’Š Current medication list
πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ Doctors + specialists you want to keep seeing

πŸ“ Questions you've been saving up

And, if we're being realistic, your reading glasses. 🀣

You don't need to show up knowing all the Medicare answers.

That's my job.

You just need to bring the information that helps us look at what matters for you.

AEP is officially open!

And no, you do not need to make a Medicare decision today. 😊

You have until December 7 to review your coverage and make changes for 2027, if a change makes sense for you.

So instead of rushing because the commercials, mail and phone calls suddenly got louder, start here:

What's changing with your current coverage?

What's changed with your health, prescriptions or doctors?

And is there anything you want to work differently next year?
AEP isn't a race.

Take the time to understand your options and make a decision that makes sense for you.

And if you'd like some help doing that, I'm here.
