🛑 IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE: BURN BAN IN EFFECT FOR IBERIA PARISH 🛑
Effective immediately today, October 22, 2026, Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard has issued an Emergency Order prohibiting all outdoor burning throughout the parish due to severe drought conditions and elevated wind speeds.
As your local first responders, the Rynella Volunteer Fire Department asks all residents to strictly adhere to this order to help us protect our community, homes, and lives.
What you need to know:
• No Outdoor Burning: All trash burning, bonfires, and open flames are strictly prohibited.
• Exceptions: Under this order, supervised outdoor cooking activities in elevated and controlled settings (like grills or smokers) are still permitted.
• Enforcement: Per the parish directive, local fire departments are fully empowered to extinguish any fires in direct violation of this order, and violators face strict penalties under state law (La. R.S. 29:727).
Our parish is currently experiencing moderate to severe drought. With the high winds, a small spark can lead to a dangerous, fast-moving wildfire in seconds. Please do your part to keep our neighborhood
In case of any fire emergency, dial 911 immediately.
